Monique "Pebbles" Santiago

Eleven-year-old Monique "Pebbles" Santiago was last seen on March 29, 1990 in Albany, New York as she was getting ready to leave for school.

At approximately 12:00 that afternoon, she called her mom, Annie Graniela to tell her that she missed the school bus and would stay home for the rest of the day. When Annie came home later that evening, she found Monique missing and waited eight hours to call the police to report her disappearance because she felt that they wouldn't accept the report unless she had been missing for an extended period of time.

An adult male acquaintance of Monique's admitted that he saw her in a parking lot on Central Avenue across the street from a former Woolworth's store where he bought snacks for her at the cafeteria of the State University of New York's Albany campus.

The man allegedly admitted to secretly masturbating while she waited in line; however, he was not charged in connection with her disappearance due to lack of evidence.

As of 2022, Monique remains missing; since then, Annie and Monique's stepfather (who was in prison at the time of her disappearance) have died from AIDS-related causes.
