Episode 23: “2008: A মহাকাশ Owen”
(Yurie’s POV)
We were on the bench outside, with Chris explaining the challenge, and I tried my best not to glance over at Duncan. He’s been অভিনয় so weird around me.
What did I do?
He usually got over things quickly. He can’t be still mad about the kung-fu challenge! Can he...?
I finally gave in and glanced at him. He had unmistakable hurt in his eyes; the kind আপনি would see in someone’s eyes after their bf/gf dumped them.
What had happened?
We all received presents from home. Duncan got his pet tarantula, Scruffy, which didn’t really seem to cheer him up, Harold got these weird ninja things, I forgot what Owen got, and Beth got a চেরি Ring Pop from her “boyfriend.” And me? I got a picture of me as Student Council President. Yes!
“Omigosh, I haven’t seen this in so long!” I squealed.
I shook my head to clear it and focused on the challenge. We were supposed to sleep in “zero gravity”. Easy...!
I grabbed my বালিশ and fell asleep quickly.
(Duncan’s POV)
And that Kiyurie was actually অভিনয় normal. As if!
I usually loved my pet spider, but not now. I was still too annoyed at Yurie. Technically we weren’t broken up yet, but it was as if... nothing had happened between us. Like we had never fallen in love.
I glanced at her, sleeping soundly, and sighed. “Why?” I murmured.
Harold overheard. “You still প্রণয় her, don’t you?” I had told him about it all yesterday.
I sighed. I didn’t’ care that this was Harold. “Yeah.”
“You’re cry-ing,” he cajoled.
“Shut up,” I said, but then I realized what he said, “I am not...”
“Oh. Your eyes are so shiny for some reason.”
What the heck?! “Whatever. Go away.”
“But...”
“GO AWAY অথবা I’LL CREAM YOU!” I yelled at the শীর্ষ of my voice.
Harold flinched and ran away.
I clutched my বালিশ to my heart, and finally fell into a restless sleep.
(Yurie’s POV)

Me and Beth got to pick the order, so I chose, Harold, Me, Owen, Beth, then Duncan. Beth agreed. So, Harold was first, and he ended up crushing Scruffy. His time was 23 seconds. La-ame...
“No!” I heard Duncan yell.
I wished I could comfort him, but...
It was my turn. I bravely stepped in and stayed in for a 56 seconds! And it was way worse than any other ride. It wasn’t a ride! It was a blender.
Owen was next. He farted up a storm in there, but he did stay for a 34 seconds.
Beth ended up throwing up at 6 seconds, and she got off at 13.
But then Duncan... I wanted to say, “Be careful!” and give him some tips about it, and have him smile in that incredibly charming way...
(Duncan’s POV)
Yurie, help me. আপনি can do this, I willed her telepathically.
But she didn’t. I gritted my teeth.
Hey, I told myself, if she can stay in for that long, so can I. My প্রণয় for her and our tightness made my stomach all stiff, and I just knew I was going to win.
It was way worse than I had expected. I had to lean over many times, and I nearly puked.
But I came out at the awesome time of 1 min 2 seconds!
Ha, I told myself. Better than Kiyurie. But I regretted it instantly...
I felt a pang of প্রণয় and regret for her. I loved her, I really did! But... how could I deal with her and the game? I had to break up with her. It was the only thing to do.
(Yurie’s POV)
Duncan got out with a longer time than me, and was প্রদত্ত invincibility. He looked grim as he walked past me, and ব্যক্ত that he had to “talk”.
He didn’t mean... no!

I waited with nervousness as Duncan approached me in my cabin. I was there, seated, on my bunk, and I pointed beside me. “Sit,” I said. He did.
“Listen,” he said. “You’re a great girl and all...”
“Shut up!” I ব্যক্ত angrily. “You know I’m not. আপনি hate me. আপনি want to dump me, but I don’t even know why!” Tears were flowing down my eyes.
“You know why!” He said. “'He’s such a jerk! How could he do that to you? I never really liked him!'” He said, making air quotes.
That all sounded really familiar... “I didn’t say anything like that! Not to you,” I said.
“Not in front of my face,” he corrected me. “But I heard আপনি that night, talking to Beth.”
Oh... Hey, wait. “I wasn’t talking about you,” I whispered.
“What?!”
“I was talking about Chris.”
(Duncan’s POV)
Ohh... How could I actually think she didn’t প্রণয় me...? I just embraced her.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
“I am, also,” Yurie said.
It all made sense, now. I thought about how much I had missed my Kiyurie and there was a stab in my heart. I remembered that she was here, with me, in my arms now, and I felt better.
“I do প্রণয় you,” Yurie started, opening her blue eyes wide. “You know...?”
“I প্রণয় আপনি too,” I ব্যক্ত back, smiling. “And I’ll always know that. Though when I heard you, I just was hurt. I couldn’t think of anything else.”
We were getting ready for bed, so I was in my shorts, and she was in her pretty silver-blue nightgown.
“You look cute in this,” I said. “Though আপনি look cute in everything.”
“Thank you,” she said, pressed against me, and I thought,
It’s nice to finally be reunited. So that’s why people in the চলচ্চিত্র make it like that.
Now I know how it feels.
