It's not about which couple is your favorite on the show but which couple do you think is THE major couple of the show, which might represent it!

I think It was 1-6 and even 7, 8 for me when They weren't there =D

Every other couple had there ups and downs, and so did Naley, but they are the face of OTH to me (but LP are my favourites) ღ

Lucas/Peyton weren't even together until s4, while Naley are an item, an iconic couple.

For me it's Naley, they're my #1 OTP, but I always felt like LP and BL were more popular because of the triangle.

i think LP was the core couple even if they weren't together til 4. i always felt like this is was LP story first and foremost but then they left so Naley took the lead.

to everyone who seem to forget s1, it all started with lucas having crash on peyton. i didn't watch anything past s6, but in s1-6 it was leyton over naley

I think it's obvious. Peyton and Lucas have been on/off since the pilot yes, but Nathan and Haley have been together pretty much since the fourth or fifth episode of season 1. Peyton and Lucas were both inlove with other people through out the show, Nathan and Hayley have only been inlove with eachother. They're also in oth till the end episode, unlike Leyton who are in the show only until season 6. I would also say Brucas were as major as Leyton in the highschool seasons, Lucas and Brooke were together in as many episodes as Lucas and Peyton before season 5 hit.

I always felt like the story was being told from Lucas eyes and from the pilot it was clear it would be Lucas & Peyton. From S1 to S6 the story focused mainly on this IMO.

Who cares how long these couples were "technically" couples? That doesn't mean anything. Yes, Naley were together throughout the entire series. So what? That doesn't make them any more important, or more of a focus than any of the other relationships.

Couple or not... the Lucas & Peyton relationship in general was always there, pretty much front and center during the entire show. (granted, with the exception of season 2):

Season 1: The whole show started with them. Watch the pilot. It's this episode where the creator of the show even said that they first started designing "a world where Lucas and Peyton were meant to be together". No, they weren't a real couple this season, but their will-they-won't-they relationship, and unresolved feelings for eachother remained a central storyline of the first season.

Season 2: Yes, Leyton were minimal this season. But there's also an episode that specifically addresses that, and acknowledges the fact that their absence in each other's lives was very much noticed, and regretted by both of them. Other relationships were given the chance to shine this season (Brucas & Jeyton mainly), but that didn't last long.

Season 3: Enter Leyton again! No, they still weren't a couple. But the BLP triangle resurfaces, when Peyton realizes that she's in love with Lucas. Andddddd the triangle completely takes over the whole season's storyline.

Season 4: Leyton FINALLY become a couple, after what is a long awaited reunion of the two since season 1. This season is the season of LP bliss. No further explanation needed.

Season 5: Leyton have split. They still love each other. Lucas tries to move on. Peyton fights to get him back. A Leyton triangle all over again, except this time Brooke is replaced with Lindsey. Everyone knows that Lucas still loves Peyton, but he continues to deny it at the risk of getting hurt again. Pretty much Leyton central. Oh yeah... and Lucas proposes in the finale.

Season 6: They get married! They have a baby. They drive into the sunset happily ever after in the finale, and they leave the show, together, as originally intended in the pilot.

Yes, Naley were a couple through ALL of this. But I'd hardly say that them as a couple was as big of a focus as Leyton, or even Brucas for that matter. That may have changed during seasons 7-9, when Leyton were no longer on the show. But seasons 1-6 were definitely Leyton-driven seasons in my book!

Naley are the face of OTH for me. They're the couple that's been there from the start and stayed till the end of the show!
