They gave away the silver volvo to a lucky অনুরাগী on the Tyra প্রদর্শনী a while পূর্বে and they just decided to get a black one.

In New Moon, Volvo made them use a different model, for promotion. Chris Weitz didn't want to try and pretend the volvo was the same with silver, he ব্যক্ত he was afraid the অনুরাগী would criticize him, so he chose a glossy, metallic black.

The only reason it is black is because he went in the Tyra Banks প্রদর্শনী and three girls had a contest whoever won would get Edward Cullen silver Volvo.
