“What’d আপনি do over the weekend?” Lizzie asked me as we ate our lunch.
“Nothing. Cleaned, did my homework, the usual.” She looked down at her half eaten sandwich, and then carefully put it back in her bag.
“Have আপনি noticed Ashley lately. She’s gotten so skinny, all the boys are paying to much attention to her, especially David.” She said, that last part a whisper. Lizzie had like David for as long as I could remember, she never really admitted it, but I knew that this really bothered her.
“Its Okay, trust me, he’s not worth it.” I reassured her, as I got up to leave.
“Vic?” She questioned. “Why don’t আপনি ever stress about boys? I never even heard আপনি talk about one.” She pointer her finger up at me, explaining.
“Because, Lizzie. Boys are boys, they don’t matter.” She just shrugged and skipped back to class, leaving me dumbstruck. School was my প্রথমপাতা away from home. Here at school nobody knew about my tortures at home, the way Mom treated me. Until today I never even thought about boys, they were just there. Lizzie was right, I never talked about them. Weird. I shrugged my shoulders and ran into the classroom as the ball rang.
“VICTORIA!” I ran into the house when I heard my name called, and the crash. I pushed the door aside and ran into the living room with worry. There on the floor was Mary, her arm was বিভক্ত করা open, shards of glass in it. She took one look at me and screamed.
“SHE DID IT! SHE DID IT! SHE DID IT!” That’s when Mom came in. Her eyes told me to shut up. She lifted Mary of the floor, and took her upstairs into our room. She shut the door behind her, right in my face. I was in huge trouble, for something I didn’t even do. I hated Mary, it didn’t matter that she was my sister, she was going to pay.
