    I couldn't speak, I couldn't move. I couldn't breath. All I could do was think and hope. And that's what scared me the most. Thinking gets আপনি nowhere, and if it does get আপনি 'somewhere' আপনি always, somehow, wind back up to the beginning, where আপনি started.
    "Cyd, he'll be fine." Shropee assured me as we pulled into the driveway.
    "Just go inside and help him." I managed, and she did.
    She got out, ran inside, and left me in the car.
    I was thinking about what would happen if he did die, and I started crying. I pulled the tears back, gritting my teeth, and telling myself that I will win the upcoming fight. I will fight them to the death, and I will win. We will win!
    I pushed open the car door, got out, slammed it shut, and walked inside, passing the two ওয়াচম্যান standing on the porch.
    "Is he okay?" চিরশ্যামল গুল্মবিশেষ asked.
    "He's fine." I said, not caring if she was a দুশ্চরিত্রা to me, and I shut the door behind me.
    I went down the stairs, and walked into Shropee's office. I slid the curtains closed behind me, and as I turned, I saw Jerek's unconcious body lying on the table. The tears started coming again, but I closed my eyes, pushing them back all the way down to my feet, and stomping on them to where they turned to nothing (metaphorically) that way I couldn't cry অথবা shed one single tear. I didn't want to look weak, I didn't want to প্রদর্শনী my emotions. I wanted this brand new evil to bite the dust for good. I watched Shropee get the medical gun out from under the table, and I watched her squeeze some over his two wounds after she cleaned up the blood that was around the wounds. I watched the liquid turn to foam over the wounds, and I watched them close. Shropee then wiped off the foam, and told us to leave. He needed sleep, but he'll be fine once he wakes up. Shropee told Tabra to put Jerek on his বিছানা in his room, and Tabra picked his body up, one hand under his back, the other under his legs.
    I followed Tabra, and watched him set Jerek down on his bed, and Tabra left me to be alone with him. I looked at his wounded body, and watched the scared tissue regenerate and watched the dead look to the wounds turn to nothing at all, as if nothing happened. I closed the door behind me, locking it too, and walked over to Jerek, climbing onto the bed. I put an arm around him, and a leg too. I kissed his lips quickly, put my head on his chest, and wrapped his arm around me, and I couldn't help but let the tears slither out onto my cheeks.
    "He'll be fine." I told myself. "He'll be fine. He'll be fine. He'll be fine."
    And I kept repeating it until I fell asleep.
