i think he likes being a vampire, but he would rather not be a vegitarian, but he does it for alice, i don't know, i might be off.

I don't think he likes it because he feels what his victim feels before his kills them and obviously feels terrible about it.

Being a vamp at first is cool, but if you have to spend it alone, then it's really no fun at all, so it helps to have someone by your side for eternity, if you're going to live forever you should have a reason and Alice is his reason. I think if he didn't have Alice, then no, he wouldn't like being a vamp by any means.
