All of my animals are vegetarian. Dog, fishes, rat, chickens, ducks, and turkey (unless the birds catch bugs on their own) All very healthy.


With so many brands of meat-less dog food out there, there is no reason for any dog not to be vegetarian. Dogs are omnivores, not carnivores and can live better without meat. Some people say that their dog would not like it and that he should eat meat because wolves do. Well, the next time you see a poodle or a dachshund, think about how he would live in a wolf pack. Dogs are not wolves and should not be treated as wolves. And do the dogs know what is in their food? Dog kibble looks like dog kibble. Is it better for dogs to eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains or rotting flesh that has been ground up and baked? It is our responsibility to feed our animals what is best for them. And they really do like the vegetarian food. My chihuahua was chewing on a Milk bone biscuit that my sister rarely feeds her dog, and when I set his bowl of vegetarian food down, he instantly dropped the Milk bone and gobbled up his food. Do you know that most brands of fish food has fish as one of the first ingredients? Is is not gross to feed your pet goldfish other dead fish? Some fish eat other fish but they also eat algae and bugs. I feed my fish (goldfish, cory cat, upside-down catfish, mollies, snail, betas, crayfish, etc.) vegetarian dog kibble and algae tablets. And they never get the parasites and problems that the other fish got. My mollies have had lots of babies and the other fish are all growing well. I would not force feed a snake or a alligator vegetables, but there is no reason for most pets to eat meat, even cats and ferrets can be vegetarian now.

He's a guinea pig, so he's naturally herbivorous anyway!

I may choose not to eat meat, but I would never deprive my dog and cat of it.
