I like the idea to see a girl being an Adventurous Explorer and the guy hopping around and spying on her, but I don't know.. :P

I love thinking about things like this (a similar question came up on the Frozen spot a year or two ago)! These two characters aren't too stereotypical for their genders, so I don't think a gender swap or role swap would be as interesting as certain other Disney movies, but I think some aspects would be pretty original. Like a female character just exploring because she was naturally into that sort of thing, and a male character that has a prominent spiritual side or oneness with nature, and animal friends.

I don't know whether I'd like it more or less, honestly, but it is interesting to think about. :)
