This is NOT about any upcoming project Disney is doing for The Lion King. This is just a hypothetical situation question!

I don't know what they'd be doing whether it be movie, TV show (Lead or cameo), short, or whatever it would be but I think he'd be a good choice. His voice today does sound similar to Simba. Also, while I don't mind his performance in The Lion King and thought he was fine there, I don't think Matthew Broderick is a good actor at all. I actually think he's one of the worst actors out there and even though I don't mind his performance as Simba and think he was fine and serviceable, he was still kind of bland. So I wouldn't be devastated like others would be if he didn't return to voice Simba for... well, whatever they'd do. I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't because apparently Broderick is difficult to work with and is very rude.

Anyway, Jonathan Taylor Thomas would be an interesting choice as a replacement for the voice of adult Simba. He did voice young Simba in the movie, is a pretty good actor (Not phenomenal or anything), has a similar sounding voice to adult Simba, and it would be pretty cool to see young Simba voice adult Simba. He was too young at the time but if they had either waited several more years or he had miraculously turned into an adult, maybe he would have been a good choice. I have never heard his voice, so I wouldn't know.

I'm talking about if he voiced him today now that he's an adult and Matthew Broderick didn't want to reprise his role as Simba. I'm not asking if he should've voiced him when the movie first came out because OBVIOUSLY he was too young.

Possibly, and thanks for that video link btw or I wouldn't have known what he sounded like these days! But while listening to his voice I was trying to visualise it coming from Simba as an adult, and he's not far off actually. I think his voice would be suitable in that respect.

Although what I really like about this idea is that it's just a really fun scenario. It's not too often you hear about an adult voice actor reprising a role that they last played during their childhood!
