Shoulder Lake Camp has been closed for ten years.The camp counselors who worked there,say it's because of persistent flooding.But that's not true.The real reason it closed down,was because of the creature.The creature that lived in Shoulder Lake.I know,for I was there.I was there the first and last summer,Shoulder Lake Camp was open.
It was June 1st,1999.I was twelve years old,and my mother had signed me up to go to the new camp that had opened.Shoulder Lake Camp.I was sitting on the front porch of my house,waiting for the bus to take me to camp.I was excited.Never before had I been to camp.I was পাঠ করা a magazine,when the bus pulled up.I got on.There were lots of kids of all ages.I was looking for a seat,when I saw a girl motioning for me to sit with her.I made my way to her.She had red hair,green eyes,and had many freckles.
"Hi!My name's Grace,and I'm so excited!"Grace was bouncing up and down in her seat."Oh,and I'm twelve years old."
"My name's Alexis,and I'm twelve,too."I smiled at her,and she smiled back."I'm excited,too!"We talked all of the thirty মিনিট ride to camp.
I didn't notice we had arrived,until Camp Director,Bob,announced,"Alright,everyone grab your bags and make your way to the cafeteria."He pointed to a large building in the middle of the camp.I jumped off the bus and looked around.There were lots of cabins with different letters on the door,a big,grassy field,and a lake.A crystal clear lake.I couldn't wait to swim in it.I was in mid-thought when I felt someone tug on my arm.It was Grace.
"Come on.We've gotta get to the cafeteria,"She said,as she pulled me away from that beautiful lake.

"I'm so glad we're in the same cabin."I told Grace,as we were walking toward কেবিন A.We had been asigned cabins after we ate lunch,in the cafeteria.There were three girls in the কেবিন besides Grace and I.Their names were Trish,Rachel,and Dana.I could tell right away that Trish and Dana were sisters,for they looked just alike.The only way anyone could tell them apart was because they had necklaces with their annitials on them.We had a few hours to get to know each other,before we had to go to the campfire.We introduced ourselves,but that was it.Everyone বিভক্ত করা off,doing different activities.

"And that is the legend of the Shoulder Lake Creature."Bob had finished telling a campfire story.He insisted it was true,but still nobody believed him...yet.For the incident didn't happen until the পরবর্তি week.

"She walked in,and no one ever saw her again."Grace had finished telling a spooky story she had read on the internet.
"I don't believe it,"Rachel said,lying on her bed."It's highly unlikly,"Rachel was the practical one in our cabin.
"I think it's real,and I just hope it doesn't happen to me,"said Trish,who was the timid one.She started crying,and Dana comforted her,as always.
Grace was then looking out the window.All of a sudden,her eyes popped out of her head,basicly."What is it?"I asked her.
"The-there's something crawling out of the lake,"That scared Trish,and she started crying again.
"Grace,this isn't funny."Dana scolded her.
"I'm serious,"Grace told her.
"Well,it's probably the boys from কেবিন D.They're always pulling pranks on us.Remember the scavenger hunt?"
Two boys from কেবিন D,had dressed up like Bigfoot,and jumped out at us.That made us drop everything we had found,and they won.
"No,there's no way they could pull this off,come look."Grace motioned for everyone to look out the window.And sure enough,there was something out there,and it was almost to our cabin.
Everyone became frantic.
"What are we gonna do?"Someone asked.
"Where can we hide?"
We were running around in circles,when the door burst open.There stood a slimy,hungry-looking,lake monster.Everyone ran screaming to the back door,when Grace tripped.The monster was really close to her.
"Come on,Grace!Get up!"I screamed,in the middle of crying.But the monster was too quick,it attacked her,and started dragging her off.I was about to help her,but Dana grabbed my arm,and pulled me out the door.

The camp closed the পরবর্তি day,and everyone returned home.Everyone,except poor Grace.
That is the truth behind Shoulder Lake Camp.It closed,not because of flooding,but because of a monster.A monster that lived in that beautiful,crystal-clear lake.
