She stood outside the hospital room, leaning against the দেওয়াল with her arms crossed. "He can be released soon, right? I mean, it's only a minor gunshot wound to the shoulder. Nothing major, right?"
"We'll have to wait for his foster parents to sign out on the clearance papers."
"But- he's my partner!"
"Good for you." The doctor turned to the couple coming down the hall.

"Okay, fine. I guess I'll just take a trip to the morgue by myself." She quietly murmmered to herself. Bella turned to leave, taking one last glance into the hospital room window. Adam was sitting upright, arm in sling, arguing with one of the nurses. Once he noticed her watching, she could make out the words, "Help me." Being playfully mouthed out to her. She laughed and shook her head, mouthing out "Feel better" in response.

"He put a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger, why?" Bella stared at the figure of the cloth-covered corpse.
"Don't know, but we just sent in DNA. Once the results are in you'll be the first to know."
"Thanks, Donnagan."
"Anything for the finest Junior Dectective this city's ever seen."
"Not me, that's Lake you're talking about."
The medical examiner rolled her eyes, "We're just lucky we found 2 teenagers with your skills."
"Yeah," Bella continued to stare at the corpse.
Donnagan gave a small smile, picking back up her clipboard from under her arm and walking away.

"I can handle myself, Sue! I'm almost an adult, I can handle a little boo-boo!"
"Adam Jared Lake, আপনি have been shot! I think আপনি need some rest!"

Adam groaned in frustration, glaring at his foster mother.
A, "Knock, knock." got the two's attention. "Adam, Mrs. Peters, nice to see আপনি both." Mrs. Peters expression softened into a smile, "Bella, sweetie! How have আপনি been?" Bella smiled a little bit, "I'm fine, do আপনি think I could have a private moment with Adam?" Mrs. Peters gave a nod and a small giggle before walking out of the room.

"You do know that Sue thinks we're a couple, right?"
"God no, can আপনি imagine two S.R's ever getting together? That would be the same as starting a mini world war!"
"Yeah,"
"So, how are আপনি holding up? আপনি nearly gave me a হৃদয় attack that other day!"
"I'm pushing through, but this গুল্তি ছোড়া is really starting to get on my nerves!" He tugged at the গুল্তি ছোড়া around his shoulder.
"Adam, leave it. And just so আপনি know, I got Marsden to waive আপনি out of the hospital."
"Really? Thank G-" He was cut off,
"You still never told me exactly what happened, so I'm not letting আপনি leave until আপনি do."
