"I'll go first."
I nodded. "Yep."
He eyed a stranger who was looking at us intently; the only couple wearing strange clothing. "And he wants to upgrade his serum, so that means--"
"He needs a lab!" I finished. I loved it when I felt smart.
He smiled. "Right, love. And whose lab has the best up-to-date equipment suitable for a fear serum?"
There's তারকা Labs, LexCorp, and... "I got one... WayneTech. There's no other richer lab in the country."
Robin looked solemn for a moment, gazing at the moon.
I nudged him softly. Robin?
He shook out of the mist, and smiled at me. "Right. Sorry. WayneTech. That's where we'll go."
"I don't see anything," I said, disappointed.
Robin leaned closer to the rooftop window. Inside was nothing but darkness. Finally, he sighed and said, "Okay, we're gonna have to go in." His eyes were fixed on mine.
I realized that at this point our lives were at stake. Anything we saw could be a trap, and if we fell into that trap, we would be no more.
When I didn't answer, he frowned. "You could stay up here and keep a look out. I--"
I scoffed. "No. None of that safety crap. I'm part of the team, and I'm obligated to go on every mission."
"But Erica--"
"I'm coming with you," I ব্যক্ত stubbornly. I couldn't believe we were actually having this conversation.
He sighed, giving in. "Fine." He pulled out a long object from his বেল্ট and stuck it to the window. Two sharp ends popped out, and he spun them, creating a hole big enough for a person to fit through.
With nimble hands, I pulled out the large circle, and set it aside softly. It's now অথবা never, I thought.
I was about to hop in when Robin abruptly took my hand. "I'll go first," he declared.
I groaned and backed up while he leaped into the hole. I jumped only when he ব্যক্ত it was okay to. My eyes squinted into the darkness, trying to make out a figure.
Suddenly, a pair of eyes were staring into mine, glowing bright yellow. A wave of pain rang through my head, and I fell to my knees, groaning.
"Erica? What's wrong!" I felt Robin's hands on my shoulder.
"Erica..." A raspy voice swam through the deep confines of my mind, nearly driving me mad.
I groaned. "W-what...do আপনি want...?" I ব্যক্ত out loud.
The voice chuckled. "All I want...is you."
A loud keen emanated through my consciousness, driving out every memory I had stored in there. A blueish figure leaped out at me, pushing me to the floor, it's large claws digging into my skin.
"Erica..." It ব্যক্ত again.
And then I realized who it was.
"NO!" I yelled, pushing myself up. I felt all the strength drain out of me as I stood face to face with the Dragon Spirit.
Deep inside my mind, I knew it wasn't him. It would've been impossible to see him again, since I was no longer Avatar.
My immunity to its power made it shrink away, leaving nothing but a মেঘ of dust. All of a sudden, lights turned on, and there was no one in the room besides Robin and me.
When I looked at him, he looked pale. "What...was that?" he whispered.
"Just...a memory," I panted.
He looked at me painfully. "Wanna keep going?"
I nodded.
"We have to."
"Just...a memory."
