I sat in the midst of the scattered conversations. Off to the side, Batman, Superman, Red Tornado and Green অনুষ্ঠান- অ্যারো were eyeing me suspiciously, while Aqualad, Red অনুষ্ঠান- অ্যারো and Superboy were discussing the validity of my story. Artemis, Miss Martian and Zatanna were sitting on the পালঙ্ক chatting up a storm. Kid Flash was in the রান্নাঘর with Flash. Eating. And Robin was sitting পরবর্তি to me, being protective like an older brother should.
After everyone had heard my side of the story, they agreed to let me out of the room into the living space. But it was no আরো comfortable than it had been locked up. I still felt awkwardly alone.
ব্যাটম্যান came to the center of the room and cleared his throat. All talking stopped.
“I know that this is... out of protocol. We don’t usually let anyone that we don’t trust in.” I lowered my head. Robin grasped my hand and squeezed it. “But, we’ve made an exception here. Infinity, was it?” I nodded slightly. “Infinity will stay here with us and we’ll protect her. Maybe teach her a couple of things she might need to know. And eventually, she might become part of the team.”
Underneath my black hair my eyes widened. I gaped at him. I- I could stay? I couldn’t believe it! As soon as the older mentors left the room I jumped onto Dick and crushed him with a hug. “Oh, my god!” I looked around at everyone else. “Thank you! Thank আপনি so freaking much!”
"Don't thank us. It's only temporary." Aqualad said, and I nodded.
"Of course. I know. Hey," I ব্যক্ত with a sudden realization, "do আপনি have a ঝরনা somewhere, maybe a বিছানা to sleep in? Oh, and also I need to get the stuff from- well, আপনি know."
They looked at me like I was kidding. "You need your stuff? What did আপনি leave?" Artemis and Zatanna asked.
"Um, nothing really. Just a personal item. Something that I can't exactly replace..." I trailed off quietly. Then Robin understood and said,
"It's not a problem, আপনি just relax. I'll get your stuff. I think I know hat you're talking about, and I can grab it without being seen. As for the shower-"
"As for the shower," Miss M. cut in, "I can take care of that. We'll find আপনি a place to stay when you're done. And... we'll get আপনি changed," she added, looking at my outfit. For the first time in weeks (or was it months) I actually felt embarrassed, and my pale skin added a little আরো color. Blushing, I turned away from the group. "C'mon now!" Miss M. grasped my sleeve and pulled me towards the bathroom. Giggling, I let her drag me away. As we turned the corner, I saw Robin going through the transporter tube to the south, off to where he would get everything I left.
