If you\'re wondering just what sort of sound Zayn Malik has been cooking up in the studio for this new solo career of his, prepare yourself for a big old hint as it\'s been revealed that he\'s been working with Frank Ocean producer Malay.

Aside from being the guy responsible for producing and co-writing the majority of

, Malay\'s also worked with everyone from Tori Kelly to Alicia Keys, so Zayn\'s first solo offering just got about 10 times more interesting.

What\'s more, Malay reckons that when it comes to making music, Zayn seriously knows his shit.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "Cat\'s out the bag, it\'s no secret we\'ve been working.

"@zaynmalik is pure genius," he adds. "An artists\' artist. A shining star with a genuine heart."

We don\'t know about you but this has got us even more excited to hear exactly what Zayn\'s got in store for us all in his new, post-One Direction world. That said, as long as he wears tight trousers to perform this music, we\'re sure we\'re all going to like it.

What\'ll be even more interesting is when Zayn actually decides to launch the new music, particularly if any of it comes out around the end of the year when One Direction are expected to release their fifth studio album, the first without him also on it.
