I'm just helping দ্বারা sharing what ফ্যানপপ ব্যক্ত about this club.
|
I remember visiting this website once...
It was called How to not get banned for life - Alpha and Omega - ফ্যানপপ
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
1. REPORT ATTACKERS IMMEDIATELY. You are doing the entire community a favor as they are probably attacking other members.
YOU MUST PROVIDE AS MUCH EVIDENCE AS POSSIBLE IN THE REPORT FIELD, including links to the attacks.
Attacks are personal insults, threats, bigotry, etc. A person saying they don\'t like a contribution is NOT an attack. Having a debate is also not an attack until insults/threats etc. are mixed in.
2. DO NOT ATTACK BACK. If you attack back, you are probably giving the attacker/troll what they want. We won\'t dig through 20 pages of reports to find out
who started it. Most likely, both people will be banned.
3. Reporting is not a weapon. People who fraudulently report enemies, do not provide details, and/or repeatedly report people without providing evidence may also be removed from Fanpop.
This club has caused more problems here at Fanpop HQ than all other clubs combined. That is not an exaggeration.
We\'ve lifetime-banned several of the most troublesome users and deleted all of their content. In other words, there is no coming back for them. All their contributions are gone.
"But Fanpop, how can I avoid getting banned? I\'m just a nice, honest A&O fan!"
If someone picks a fight with you, DO NOT RESPOND, and immediately report it, and make sure you link to or quote the offending content. We absolutely need all the details. If you simply report the user without providing evidence, no action will be taken against them.
Also, we\'re talking about personal attacks, not normal human interactions.
A fan writes: "You suck and yo mamma sucks" ->You report them->Troll banned for life->You helped Fanpop terminate a troll and made A&O a better place!
Another fan writes: "This was some interesting fanfic, but the first section is taken word-for-word from my work last week. Here\'s the link. Do you mind changing it or attributing it to me?"->They are NOT a Troll, NOT banned, you should change your fanfic immediately, and you just wasted everyone\'s time. That being said, if the fan started the post with a slur or insult, they would still be banned.
There\'s a saying that "you can get away with almost anything if you do it nicely." While we\'re not necessarily encouraging people to try to get away with stuff, the "nicely" part is the key takeaway.
Given the volume of content and literally millions of fans, we cannot go and dig through a thousand comments to find out "who started it."
Think of it this way: if teachers and parents right now don\'t have time to figure out "who started it", imagine if one\'s parents had millions of children. Are they going to have time to sift through everything?
If you do respond to said troll and there is a ton of back and forth, with both sides cussing each other out, both of you will be banned from ever joining Fanpop again. There is a good chance moderators will delete 100% of your content and strip your medals and caps, as well.
One final note: anyone posting explicit material will be banned for life without exception. The old, ugly motto has been changed, but the standards are the same, if not stricter.
The good news is that 99% of the users here are great people and not causing problems. Be cool and courteous with one another,
report trolls immediately and every time WITHOUT responding to them, and, together, we\'ll purge them from Fanpop once and for all.
At long last we have a guide. Hopefully people follow it and no one will have to get their account removed.
*claps and cheers* we finally have authority :^D (or... someone to do authority for us) and wow, I knew the recent fight was huge but I never knew it was huge enough to cause the most problems out of any club, that\'s an achievement for this club (may not be the kind that will give a good rep or respect but oh well), anyways you guys over there in the HQ of Fanpop are doing great :^D
Yea I miss moon too! And mojo but at least we can come on here with out seeing fights
Rocko, I\'m pretty sure they\'ll take care of this. Until then, just wait.
Pointless because they would just banned u
Guys, Moon has been unbanned one last time. His account is far from clean, with numerous issues, so this is his last chance. Rockowolf123, on the other hand, is banned for life (there were some private messages sent to us by Rocko that sealed his fate.)
Is it a problem if I enjoy calmly arguing with trolls? :D
Ignas357, please just report them as they are probably trolling other people, as well. We\'re talking about threats, cursing, insults, etc.
If you are just debating something, we\'re not here to stop that.
Thanks for finally cleaning out the accounts, perhaps this place can start to improve not that some problem starters are gone.
with this here, it is time for us to start again...to rise like a phoenix from the ash........and rebuild our once great club....thank you for you aid admins
Is replying a comment with an honest disagreement bad; against the rules? Or is that \'A-OK\'? :D
I\'m not talking about replying with swearing, insults, or trolling. Just a normal disagreement. ;)
Oh, and yes I was going to reply to somebody, but I chose not to due to not knowing for sure. So I\'m being safe!
No, nothing wrong with that, as long as it dosen\'t reach a point where a fight breaks out like it did last time. If someone dislikes a character or a movie and you disagree, heres how you should handle it.
"While I get you like the movie, I disagree, but I respect your opinion so it\'s no big deal." Or something along those lines. Nothing more needs to be said unless the other person agrees to a friendly debate
What about a natural debate (Fanpop said something about this); that if someone disliked a character, but said to the whole public and make a claim over her/him? Someone could nicely disagree with the claim beyond the dislike but also give out another claim as well equally (Nicely too)?
You know, without the things I gave as an example that Fanpop doesn\'t like. XD
I just thought that people should have there say too.
Also I think I\'m just going to wait from the official person here. I believe it\'s a better idea personality since it\'s the... owner. ;)
Well if your going to mean like you dislike somone\'s OC or someone\'s work that can be kinda sticky. So I\'d be careful
Lets try an example just so im clear with what your saying.
I dislike Daria from the fourth film. How would you respond?
Well if you just not like Daria, then I don\'t see any reason to argue. XD
I was only talking about making some less subjective argument involving her (E.G.) while not liking her.
Oh well, I\'ll just wait for a response here from Fanpop, I think it\'s the best way for obvious reasons. Hehe
I just feel like she was in the way at times. And she\'s just not that interesting.
And now I see. Alrighty then! Welcome to fanpop btw.
Again, we\'re not here to stop debates. We\'re here to stop personal attacks, insults, threats, and discrimination. The article makes this abundantly clear.
A few people have issues with crossing that line and attacking others. Fanpop is not the place for them (and I would say neither is much of the world). There are nearly 5,000 registered fans in this club, and hundreds of thousands of viewers. We\'re not going to allow a few bad apples ruin things for everyone.
