Ahh Christmas. The tree, the stockings, the mistletoe and - of course - the holiday টেলিভিশন programming.

Some of my fondest বড়দিন memories were spent in front a of টেলিভিশন watching such classics as the animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer অথবা one of the myriad versions of Dickens' 'A বড়দিন Carol'.

So without further ado, I am presenting আপনি with my big, big তালিকা of holiday specials. I've tried to categorize the তালিকা into subsections to make it a little আরো bearable and consumable. The...

Back when I was a kid watching বড়দিন specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded আপনি of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did আপনি ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs প্রদর্শনী us a Santa Claus surrounded দ্বারা androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

For every বছর the বড়দিন tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.
O বড়দিন tree, O বড়দিন tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
Another Holiday season is upon us and আপনি know what that means: break out the egg nog, light up the tree, put up the stockings, take out a সেকেন্ড mortgage for the credit card bill and আগুন up The Carpenter's বড়দিন album (turn it up to 11, will you?).

It also means it's time for another তালিকা of বড়দিন video goodies.

So kick back and get ready to enjoy another batch of holiday fun. Oh, and in case আপনি missed last year's তালিকা be sure to check out link

So without further ado...

If আপনি want to wish "Merry Christmas" to someone in Greece, then আপনি should say: Kala Hristouyienna.

If আপনি want to wish "Happy New বছর " to someone in Greece, then আপনি should say: Kali Hronia.

For "Happy New বছর Day" in Greek আপনি should say "Kali Protohronia".

If your friend is called Manolis অথবা Hristos, his nameday is on December 25 (Christmas day). Wish him "Hronia Polla" (Many Happy Returns) for his nameday.

The same applies if your friend is called Vassilis, Yiannis অথবা Fotis. Vassilis nameday is on January 1, Fotis' nameday is on January 6, Yiannis' nameday is on January 7.

During বড়দিন holiday period, which lasts from December 24 until January 6, plus a couple of weeks past that, it is a custom in Greece to wish "Hronia Polla" to the people আপনি meet. So, if আপনি meet someone in the morning, the proper way to greet him অথবা her is: Kalimera, Hronia Polla! (Good morning, Many Happy Returns).
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.

Since I had done with my favourite বড়দিন films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed দ্বারা famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah দ্বারা George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast দ্বারা George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's সঙ্গীত sounds very বড়দিন oriented and it is highly recommend for both বড়দিন and Handel অনুরাগী alike!

3) St. John's Passion দ্বারা Johann Sebastian Bach

It's dramatic সঙ্গীত will not only celebrate...

In Ukraine, the বড়দিন holidays begin since 2nd of January. Prior to বড়দিন in the Ukraine, people try to complete almost all important work. As usual, the hostess thoroughly cleans the house, covers the new tablecloth, tries to make new clothes before holiday. On January 4th Ukrainians prepare everything for the future festive বড়দিন dinner. According to tradition, there should be 12 courses for Svyatvecher (Christmas). All they have to be lean.

Traditionally, 12 courses are prepared because it is believed that during the বছর the মাস run over the earth for 12 times. Therefore,...

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father বড়দিন and simply "Santa", is a figure with legendary, mythical, historical and folkloric origins who, in many western cultures, is ব্যক্ত to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of বড়দিন Eve, December 24. The modern figure was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed দ্বারা Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea....

In Germany, today is the First Advent – meaning the first of the for Sundays before Christmas. It is often the last Sunday in November, but this year, it happens to be exactly on December first. Advent is here the time we spend in preparation for the বড়দিন celebrating, lighting one candle every Sunday.

The sixth of December is a very special day, Nicholas day. The prior evening, everyone in the house is cleaning their largest pair of shoes and putting it in front of the fireplace (or another special place). The পরবর্তি morning, the shoes are filled with sweets – if the children have been...

I really think বড়দিন is a magic time of the year! Even though I am starting to grow up (I am sixteen), I always become a little child again when বড়দিন is near, and go playing in the snow, waiting for Santa (Dad) with my little, and big, cousin, baking, meeting near and dear and just enjoy the moment and life.
I mean, do আপনি really do that in the same way any other time of the year? Because I dont think so...
And the বড়দিন music- wonderful! :)
I think people in general becomes nicer when Christmas, and for a season to have the power to make people nicer- that I call pure magic!!! :D

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe that at her bosom clung,
A mother song the Virgin-mother sung.

II
They told her how a glorious light,
Streaming from a heavenly throng
Around them shone, suspending night!
While sweeter than a mother's song,
Blest দেবদূত hearlded the Saviour's birth
Glory to God on high! and Peace on Earth.

Santa Kitty,
I’ve really been an awfully good cat,
And that
Is not an easy thing for me,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
A ten-pound bag of cat food, too,
From you.
I’ve been an অ্যাঞ্জেল all year,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all
The খাবার I’ve missed.
Think of all the items on
My people’s grocery list.
They really have been
Mean to me.
It takes a lot of food
To feed a cat like me!

Santa Kitty,
Slip a দুধ bowl under the tree
For me.
I’ll stay up for you, dear
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
I need something to chase ’round...

Hi guys, I would like to write some of my favourite বড়দিন Activities here as I am feeling the বড়দিন blue already!

Hi guys, I know that this প্রবন্ধ is pretty early, but I thought that I write about why I প্রণয় বড়দিন and how I celebrate it here in Malaysia.

How?

Every year, my church (I'm not baptized yet, mind you) would organised a special occasion. But the common one is definitely caroling, the location is normally depends because we need to get the approval from the management team themselves.
On বড়দিন Eve, we would have a night service accompanied দ্বারা ডিনার prior to the service. A few days earlier, the youths would decorate the church with the birth of যীশু and setting up the বড়দিন tree....

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say Merry Cristmas to all of আপনি fanpoppers out there.

If আপনি believe in god অথবা আপনি don't, it is always a special দিন for families and বন্ধু to প্রদর্শনী how they really feel about one another, either this being খাবার fights, real fights অথবা praying for the less fortunate, spend it as a way that is special to you.

Living in Australia, i have always had sweaty, hot christmas'. বড়দিন morning spent with my mum and in the afternoon, it is spent with my dad. This is all that i have basically known, i am just grateful that i get to spend one of my most favourite days of the বছর with my whole family.

But remember that বড়দিন is not just about the presents অথবা the food, although it is the best part lol, it is about family, বন্ধু and santa.

So spread the joy and প্রণয় that this season brings, spread it to everyone that আপনি know and maybe even to those that আপনি don't. Have a great বড়দিন :)
