Everyone remembers the hero. He/she gets all the attention and praise after the defeat of the bad guys. All the while the devoted sidekick steps back and lets it happen. Do you feel the love and devotion of the sidekick? Without the devotion of the sidekick, the 'hero' would probably still be fighting the bad guys!!

I would be proud to be a sidekick! In fact, they shouldn't be called sidekicks but partners!!
