'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers: Nathalie Emmanuel Says Missandei and Emilia Clarke's Daenerys Will Be 'Closer'

(Photo : Getty Images/Jamie McCarthy) "Game of Thrones" star Nathalie Emmanuel said that Emilia Clarke\'s Daenerys got a "confidante" and a "friend" in her character Missandei in the upcoming Season 5 of the show.

Daenerys will grow "closer" to her handmaiden Missandei in the upcoming fifth season of "Game of Thrones," actress Nathalie Emmanuel teased.

The 25-year-old British actress, who plays Missandei on the show, attended last Sunday\'s 2015 Golden Globe Awards, where "Game of Thrones" was nominated for Best Television Series - Drama. The actress was spotted at the HBO party after the awards ceremony, and was asked by E! News about how things are going in Meereen for the fifth season of the show.

Emmanuel didn\'t say much, but she did dish a few little details. She said that her character and Emilia Clarke\'s Mother of Dragons will grow "closer."

"We see Daenerys being queen and what comes with that, so it\'s not always smooth sailing but she\'s got her confidante and friend Missandei to help her along the way," the "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" star said.

This isn\'t surprising because in Season 4, Daenerys forced her most trusted advisor Jorah (Iain Glen) to leave Meereen after she learned that he was initially working as a spy for Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) - the man whom she finds guilty of her family\'s murder.

Emmanuel\'s use of the phrase "confidante and friend" also seems to shut down a fan theory that Missandei\'s relationship with Daenerys will eventually turn to romance.

In George R.R. Martin\'s "Storm of Swords," Daenerys and her handmaiden Irri (Amrita Acharia) had sex a few times, but Irri died in Season 2 of the TV adaption. This has caused some fans to speculate that Missandei may replace Irri in those intimate scenes.

But in an interview with Salon back in April, Emmanuel said that she didn\'t think those sex scenes would happen at all.

"I totally get [that] with \'Game of Thrones,\' there are no real limitations, but Daenerys and Missandei\'s relationship is so much more of a respect thing," she explained. "Daenerys is really getting to trust Missandei deeply, and Missandei loves her because she\'s in awe of her."

"She respects her. Daenerys liberated her," she added of Missandei. "I suppose, in a situation like that, feelings of love, or romance, could blossom. But Missandei is so grateful for her position. Unless it was given to her as a job, I don\'t think she would ever cross that line."

And if ever those sex scenes would actually happen, filming those parts might be difficult for both actresses especially that they have already become friends off camera. In fact, Emmanuel revealed to E! News that she and Clarke like to have "tea parties" together, both on and off set. "We just hang out and drink tea-it\'s very British," she told the outlet with a laugh.

"Game of Thrones" returns Sunday, April 12, on HBO.
