A-list jeweller Selin Kent\'s Emma Watson delight

Jewellery designer Selin Kent is flattered that Angeline Jolie wears one of her necklaces.

Emma Watson thrilled jewellery designer Selin Kent when she wore her designs.

The British beauty has turned from child Harry Potter actress to fully fledged movie star, and can add model and style icon to her resume too.

New York-based Selin has seen the likes of Kerry Washington, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba rock her classic pieces, but it was 26-year-old Emma who really excited her when she wore the Charlotte Earwire to a Giambattista Valli show.

“Emma Watson was the first celebrity who wore my line. I was so thrilled - I’m a big fan of her style and her humanitarian efforts,” she gushed to America’s OK! magazine.

It seems Selin likes her celebrity fans to be big on charity too, so when United Nations Special Envoy Angelina Jolie also donned her designs, the jeweller was of course over the moon.

“Angelina Jolie is another celebrity whose activism and charity work I greatly admire. Plus, she has worn the necklace from my line many times, and I love how she keeps coming back to it! It’s the ultimate form of flattery,” she smiled.

Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lawrence and Margot Robbie are also big fans of the Selin’s eponymous label’s sleek offerings, which mix minimalist designs with precious stones.

However Selin’s ultimate style icon, actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg, is yet to come calling.

“She encapsulates a carefree sophistication without seeming to try too hard,” she praised.

When asked to describe her work, the talented designer went with “Sophisticated, with an edge”, adding who she has in mind when it comes to making new pieces.

“I design for women with a strong sense of style who appreciate understated luxury - and don’t seek to wear the same thing as everyone else,” she said.
