Sophie Turner: The past five seasons were all leading up to Sansa’s Season 6 arc 

Sansa Stark’s journey in Season 6, from her escape from Winterfell to her murder of Ramsay Bolton to her ambivalence over Jon Snow being crowned King in the North, was one of the more celebrated aspects of 

Let’s hit the highlights. For example, Turner gave her opinion about Sansa’s new take-charge attitude in Season 6.

I kind of feel like the past five seasons has been leading up to that point for her. I’d always seen the potential in her and it just never felt like she quite reached her full potential. It was almost like a release when I was doing it, and I could finally show everyone her capabilities.

Turner also revealed that she always suspected that Sansa was going to have a breakout moment, not so much because the writers told her, but because it just 

right. “I just thought, if she’d been killed off, what’s

been the point?” she asked. “I just kinda had an inkling that she was going to do something great.

So I was really pleased when I got the scripts for the sixth season…I was just kind of living in fear that she would die and she would have really had no real part in playing the game…so it was nice to see her become a player.

As expected, Turner didn’t give any secrets away for next season, but did say that she wished Sansa and Jon Snow could have ruled the North together “as a double act, Queen in the North and King in the North,” saying that the Starks were stronger when they were together.  Turner would also love it if Sansa and Arya reunited, although after being on this show for six years, she’s not getting her hopes up.

I feel like it has to happen, but at the same time, if it did happen, would it be too obvious? Would it be too much of a good thing? Nothing that satisfactory happens on the show, because it’s ‘Game of Thrones,’ they want to make it dark and depressing and that’s what makes it amazing.

Nice answer about Jon snow, for a change. Her PR team work wonders!

The fact that she is condescending to everyone around her, it is no wonder the North elected Jon instead of Sansa. She distrusts Davos, she was stern with Lord Glover, and she probably appeared to be a social climber to Lady Mormont with all her marriages. I don’t think people in the North respect her.

I agree, the problem with Sansa is that she doesn’t bother to actually earn the respect she thinks she deserves, she’s too much like Cersei in that regard only instead of intelligence what she lacks is the ability to command her brothers – and Arya – have.

Sansa as well as Arya are hardened by the South, so their way respective of things is closer to that of Cersei. On the contrary both Robb and Jon have seen the way of the north and that is why Jon was elected because he is brave, loyal, honest and honourable and a bit cunning. But as Peryr Baelish has said, the Starks aren’t gifted with some particular intelligence.

Then again, Petyr Baelish is also a character that lacks the ability to command respect, which is why he relies on disorder, scheme and intrigues to undermine those who have it. Much like Sansa, his conspiracies rely on the power of people they are trying to undermine, not on earning said power themselves.

I don’t think Arya is coming home to them either. I could picture her going to Winterfell to check on them to see they are alright, but it’s been a long time since her home was The Hound and Gendry, the Brotherhood and Hot Pie, and every road between King’s Landing and the Night’s Watch.

May seem shallow, but my jaw dropped when I saw this pic of Mrs Turner. WOW! Emilia is much more attractive to me as a brunette. Both are very attractive ladies.

Sansa is traumatised. Off course she doesn’t trust anyone. Maybe Jon a little, but the rest? Hell no.

I think Sansa will die next season. Littlefinger has a plan to kill Jon, but he kills Sansa by accident.

Seriously. I need to do naughty things to that sexy woman…

I don’t necessarily think because it’s dark and depressing that’s what makes it amazing, Sophie. Dark and depressing might be some of its qualities, but it’s because it takes the unexpected turn, they want it to be unpredictable and interesting in that way.
