Cuddy walked as fast as she could back to her office, trying hard not to cry wiping away the stray tears. When she reached her office, she immediately collapsed into the soft lounge chair. Her thoughts conflicted with her emotions, feeling betrayed and hurt but her mind could only tell her ‘I told আপনি so.’.
House put the picture into his jean pocket, taking his cane from the corner of the room, and making his way to his office. Everything around him moved in slow motion, as he walked towards the elevator. His head sinking lower and lower, as the shame he felt hovered over him like a dark and heavy cloud.
Cuddy picked herself up, and told herself she could never allow for her child to be hurt দ্বারা House, the only way to achieve this is to do the one thing she considered to be the last thing she would ever do. Picking up her office phone, she pressed speed dial three. Clutching her baby bump, she took in a deep breath.
It was now nine o’clock in the morning; House was sitting alone in his office looking out onto the corridor outside. Wilson passed by, and saw that House was there. He stopped and walked into House’s office.
“I made a new, detailed plan, hopefully this one will stick.” Wilson passed a sheet of paper, with an in-depth schedule about his Vicodin amount.
“If আপনি stick with it, আপনি could be back to normal in a couple of weeks…” Wilson sat down; as House glanced at the paper he nodded before opening his bottom ডেস্ক drawer, pulling out a cigar box he kept hidden under piles of paper work.
“I guess আপনি should take these off my hands then…” Passing it to Wilson, he opened it up and was stunned to find stacks of Vicodin bottles, and loose pills, inside this box that House had willingly just handed to him.
“You’re doing this, pro-actively?” House then rummaged through his blazer pockets and handed his current Vicodin supply to Wilson.
“I’ve been dodging the bullet for too long, letting other people take care of my problem.” House reflected on the events in the past couple of months, “It’s my responsibility, always has been.” Wilson seemed to be proud of this momentous step House was taking onto a new but difficult road.
Wilson took off, admiring the cigar box which he thought looked kind of cool, when the door closed behind him, House took out the বিভক্ত করা picture of his child and stuck it back together with some tape and putting it back in his blazer pocket.
Wilson felt he needed to tell Cuddy what she had just missed, as if he had just seen a once in a lifetime occurrence. A smile on his face, he walked into her office.
“I’m glad it’s you, we need to talk.” Cuddy sat back in her chair, curious about the box in his hand.
“House just gave up his entire Vicodin collection, willingly.” His smile turned to confusion when he saw that Cuddy did not share the same sentiment.
“Great.” Cuddy’s tone was laden with sarcasm, as Wilson sat opposite her, she gave a look of melancholy.
“It is great, but আপনি don’t sound as if it’s great.” Cuddy looked up at Wilson, with a look of concern.
“House is House, he’ll set his mind on something he wants to achieve, it’ll be good for a few days maybe a week even, but before আপনি know it he’ll be popping pills again like nothing happened.”
Wilson didn’t realise how badly Cuddy didn’t believe in House anymore; the look on her face ব্যক্ত it all.
“Wow. House has really screwed আপনি up.” Cuddy let out a sarcastic laugh under her breath. “Or I just see past the façade.”
Wilson put the cigar box down on the desk, before he left. Cuddy looked with contempt at the box before locking it in the bottom draw of her desk.

The ebb and the flow of the দিন had left House even আরো exhausted than usual, with his patient crawling towards the pearly gates he didn’t know what else to do. It was only when Cuddy walked into his office did his mind become distracted.
“I know about last night…you didn’t think I’d check the charts?” Cuddy sat down, as House seemed to recline backwards into his chair.
“Damn Wilson.” House rubbed his forehead in frustration. “That’s not why I’m here. I wanted to let আপনি know that I’ve made my decision…” House straightened up, trying hard to hide his fears.
“I can’t bring a child into this world of yours. She deserves to grow up with a mother who can give her all of the attention she needs, and a father who isn’t so consumed with his own problems that he can at least accept her existence.”
“Well, at least you’re honest about it.” Cuddy seemed apprehensive about his response.
“It’s for the best.” Cuddy left, she felt sick for doing such a thing but deep down her logic told her that doing so would be beneficial in the long run…
