I usually do not care for novelizations, but as a fan of "Interstellar" I decided to give it a go -- and this one is a fun read! It basically reads exactly as the movie does from what I can recall, although there is some extra dialogue. The other benefit of course it is easier for the author to get us into the character\'s head in book form. Another positive is that you can stop and re-read a passage (particularly related to the science) if necessary, while the movie stops for no one. It\'s hard to judge the quality of the writing in the moments of action and suspense, because I\'ve already seen the film and thus the visuals are all there in your head already - but the author does not disappoint.

** I\'ve now read three books related to Interstellar, and I think they will all add to my enjoyment and understanding of the movie when I see it a second time. The other books I would recommend are "The Science of Interstellar" and "Interstellar: Beyond Time and Space".

A well written piece of sic-fi. A must read before seeing the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to any sic-fi enthusiasts.

Just finished this novelization. Incredible! I can\'t wait to see the movie!

Let me be the first to review this book. Having seen the movie, and not being able to hear half of the dialog due to the extremely (painfully) loud music and machinery noise, I bought this book hoping to better understand the plot. I caught so many things that I had missed! So thank you for writing this. More people who watched the movie should read this book to see what all they missed at the theater, as well. It\'s a fast read, I read it in a day, and an easy read. That is saying a lot for a movie that contained so much science. This was very easy to follow.

A very good movie (sound issues notwithstanding), an interesting book and a fun read. If you enjoyed the movie, you will love this book.

My wife and I saw the movie today. On the way out of the theatre I said I do so hope there is a book I can read to try to understand what they were saying. She agreed. Even my wife whose hearing is beyond excellent also lost a lot of the dialog because of the extremely loud music and back ground sound of engines and such. Closed captioning would be the only way to understand them. We paid extra to see it in the XD theatre, terrific visually, but a poor choice for understanding the dialog in this one in deed.

The book is excellent in that it walks you through the movie step by step as it was on the big screen.. Not exactly like a script but the words needed to understand the story in the form of a novel. You need not see the movie to enjoy the book but you may need the book to understand the dialogue in the movie.

Happy we saw it? Yes we were. Happy there is this book to understand it? Absolutely!
