Merthur. Opinions?

No, personally I don't think it's a very healthy relationship, with অথবা without the romantic aspect to it.
For a start Merlin can never truly be himself around Arthur, not with Arthur being unaware of Merlin's magic, and I never think it's a good relationship where আপনি can't be yourself. Another point is all the lies, I know Merlin must lie to save himself and prevent Arthur from learning his magic, but a relationship built on lies will never last and isn't very healthy. And finally I don't think Arthur treats Merlin very well, yes I know he's been a bit nicer to him in season 4 but it still doesn't excuse the complete lack of respect Arthur gives Merlin. It's all well and good for Arthur to go "You're a good friend Merlin" but that does not excuse all the occasions when Arthur has insulted Merlin in every way, calling him an idiot, calling him useless, threatening to banish him for saying Gwen's name, not trusting him above Agravaine after all they'd been through together. If I saw a relationship like theirs in real life I would classify it as a borderline abusive one.
The merthur fandom rather discourages me towards the ship as well. I know some are very nice, so don't think i'm referring to all merthur fans, but some of them are just arrogant and plain rude. On Tumblr they are extremely bad, constantly insulting Arwen, Gwen, and the arwen fan-base. It's just plain sad and immature and prevents me at ever looking at merthur in a positive light.

I প্রণয় Merther, they make the প্রদর্শনী that much আরো special to me. BUT NOT AS A LOVER'S RELATIONSHIP! I mean, I can see why people ship them romantically, and yes, I am guilty of occasionally going that little further when I see some edited GIFs on tumblr, etc.. However I ship them to the end of the earth when it comes for friendship/romance. Now-a-days it's so rare for people to be that close to each other, and I guess despite how close I am to my own friends, I crave a freindship like that with someone full of adventure. I really feel I've grown with their friendship. But that's all it is.

No one who watches Merlin can say that these two have zero chemistry of any kind, that's certain. But Bradley and Colin are so good at portaying their characters relationship in such a depth that it leaves মহাকাশ for people to exaggerate it and take it out of context. Personally, I don't mind the fanart/fanfiction with Merther as secret lovers, etc, but I hate it when they develope into sexual imagery. It's just to much.

I have nothing against it though, and as Bradley and Colin have both said, অনুরাগী are able to get as much out of it as they wish, and that's why the প্রদর্শনী works so well! (Just as long as those particular অনুরাগী don't make the overally slashy fanworks too public). But yes, Merlin and Arthur make a good couple depending on people's individual interpretation. :)

Personally I don't care... Well, as long I don't have to read the slashy fanfics! xD I don't see anything wrong in it, as long it's only about the characters. I think Brolin(Bradley/Colin)-slash is too much! ;S আপনি have to প্রদর্শনী some kind of respect to those, who actually exist... I don't think they would like people to think about them having sex with each other! O.o
But আপনি can ship Brolin too... Just as long আপনি don't do it too much অথবা in a wrong way ;B

Well, I ship Merthur ;) But not really in a romantic way; ...or when I see those Merthur videos, প্রতিমূর্তি and so on, I can't do anything else than ship it a little! x3

I don't like it either! I find it silly. When I see Merlin and Arthur's scenes all I see is a friendship. Anything আরো just seems weird. Some people ship them but their usually jealous teenage girls LOL!

আপনি can ship as long as আপনি don't disrespect Arthur's true love. Merthur shippers are usually very disrespectful to Gwen/Angel. I find their মতামত about them rude and childish. I don't have a problem with it, just the crazy অনুরাগী who confuse ফ্যান্টাসি with reality and then bring their jealousy to the Fandom.

They are very good বন্ধু which is plane to see in theepisodes. It is quite obvious Arthur has questioned merlin's sexuallity befor so i can see where আপনি are coming from. I'll answer this like Arthurian legend buff I am. Before i watched the প্রদর্শনী i read a lot of বই on it. Evreyone knows Merlin was one of the ones that raised Arthur and was never actchually his servant. I am going দ্বারা legend here. WE ALso know that Camelot was brought down because of Gwen indirectley. So it would make no sense for merlin to be with Arthur

They work as friends, as a couple they would be weird.

I find that ship so strange. Shipping a straight man as gay makes absolutely no sense at all. Merlin looks gay but Arthur looks totally straight. Maybe Merlin can hook up with some knight??

I completely ship Merlin and Arthur. There is no doubt in my mind. I made an account just to reply to this. Some of the problems listed do not make sense to me. A lot of fanfiction is AU (Alternate Universe), which uses the characters but not the setting (and sometimes not the situation). The magic outing scenario has been written around a thousand times (search it up if you're interested I'm not listing them). I also don't understand how আপনি are blind to the chemistry of Gwen and Lancelot. Yes, he dies in the series. What do আপনি think fanfiction is for? Creating new scenarios অথবা situations with characters we like. AU is a great example of this. Sometimes AU is reincarnation, sometimes it's not. Please stop focusing on what can be done in the limits of the series, because that's the series, not fanfiction. Thanks and I hope others share my opinion (or one close to it).

P.S. I could cut the sexual tension between Merlin and Arthur with a ছুরি (and I may be wearing স্ল্যাশ goggles but I don't believe that they distort things that much).

I ship merthur. I think it is down to personal perspective if আপনি do অথবা don't, and I don't mind gwen and Arthur, I just don't see anything in them as a pair.

all we see of gwen and Arthur is 2 episodes where they are together and অভিনয় all coupley and then the rest we see is just them kissing, and to me স্নেহ চুম্বন does not equal প্রণয় অথবা romance of any sort.

People ship merthur because in their eyes they make an adorable couple. I just dislike the fact that people assume every merthur shipper hates gwen. I প্রণয় gwen because she is her own character and an awesome one, not because she married Arthur.

merlin and Arthur have a great relationship and what I believe to be romance.
I believe Arthur treats merlin well, he does not always প্রদর্শনী it in the sorts of ways others do to their বন্ধু but that is what is so special about their relationship.
neither treads carefully around each other and their banter and arguing are what their friendship is born on. Yes their is the lie about magic but I believe he would have told Arthur if gauis hadn't stopped him from.

I think that merlin and Arthur have a romantic relationship but its incredibly pure unlike most relationships it is not built off desire . I also believe that if in 2013 they would have been together.

The writers of merlin have manipulated us to ship it, if আপনি have watched merlin 5x13 commentary আপনি will see that even the shows writers and directors ship it.
