Thought 5SOS\'s brand new band-designed merch was the bees knees? Reckon you thought you\'d seen it all when it comes to weird and wonderful One Direction inspired merchandise? Well think again, because according to the latest rumours, 1D are about to smash all past merch goals well and truly out the window.

An actual hologram company over in the States have claimed that the boys are next on their list to get the technological treatment, with plans to create One Direction HOLOGRAMS sitting quietly in the pipe line.

This might all sound very space age and like something from Busted\'s \'Year 3000\' lyrics, but last week Holograms USA revealed that Whitney Houston would be going on a world tour, which is fairly impressive seeing as she passed away three years ago.

But with the news that One Direction are set to go on a hiatus/break/long holiday starting in 2016, Holograms USA have hinted that the boys are next on their list for a crazy futuristic resurrection.

Y\'know, despite the fact they\'re not dead and/or splitting up at this moment in time.

"Actually, we\'ve been talking to them for a while," Alki David, CEO of Hologram USA, revealed to heat mag.

But for anyone who was hoping to witness 5/5 back together, even if it is in strange translucent pixelated form, you might be a bit disappointed. Alki claimed that Zayn isn\'t keen on making a comeback as a hologram, adding: "We\'d have to kill him first."

INTERESTING. If this means that we can buy a teeny tiny holographic Niall to plug in on our bedside table then we\'re all for it.
