please help!!

okay, so my pom barks A LOT and my dad says he will get rid of him if i dont train him to bark. my grandma (the breeder, but she dont anymore, he was part of the last litter) and i says they are watchdogs, but my dad don't listen. are there any ways to train him to not bark?
