Faendal looked at Rosalie, wondering how much she meant what she was saying before smiling, knowing she was genuinely honest. Over time, he had learned to trust her. Truth be told, even if sometimes they had nasty fights, or would be gone for a bit, he knew one of them would be back the next day. He couldn't place why he liked her so much, or why exactly he'd come to enjoy her company so much. If he hadn't been smarter, he'd have thought she placed a spell on him, but that wasn't possible because he had never let his guard down that low. "Rosalie...may I ask you something?" Faendal asked quietly, seeming to have his mind full of thoughts. "Do you know...my life? What I've gone through?" He spoke out softly. "Because you could have easily dug through my head while I have slept. Or are we on equal footing on that?"

"I've been called many things Renald, be more creative." Joseph said before hearing the sounds of horses gallop through the town and carriage wheels roll. There was only one asshole that side of the continent that would still be in a carriage, and it wasn't the king. Joseph ran, getting outside as it seemed to be a sea of soldiers escorting Belial's black and gold carriage. As it stopped, the soldiers in black plate armor got off and armed their halberds in rest position as Belial exited the carriage, not as the fighter they remembered but as a royal man, with his white hair neatly brushed back and a trimmed goatee, covering some of the scars on his face. From the upper part of his forehead and through his right eye, there was an eyepatch covering a missing eye and in his remaining eye there seemed to be a degree of cataracts in there, leaving Belial with a monocle in that eye.
"Joseph and Renald." Belial said with a smile, not showing his grin with missing teeth. He held out his hand with three fingers, having his toddler grandson adorned in a similar way come out. "It has been a while; how do you two fare?" He asked, having a tone in his voice different than he had last spoke; a tone of royalty.

"You are a vampire Annelise...vampires need blood. It's like not drinking water; do you deprive yourself of water as a human?" Jyran asked softly, looking at her with clear worry in his eyes. "I know you believe that by doing this you'll retain some humanity but Annelise.. you're only hurting yourself. Punishing yourself for something that can't be helped.'
