How can I let some of my family and বন্ধু accept the fact that I am into Korean Culture and that I like KPop?

Recently, I haven't been able to go to ইউটিউব to watch some সঙ্গীত চলচ্ছবি of my পছন্দ bands in KPop. So when I have the time to sit down and watch TV, I watch Myx (Filipino Channel devoted to Music) অথবা এমটিভি so I can watch it there instead. Usually, when I am going to watch, my parents are watching as well, so we switch between channels (our other TV is under repair) and when I am going to ask if I can watch it a little bit longer, because it's about to end anyway, they'd say no, saying that I watched it about a hundred times already. My parents also say that I'm too obsessed with my fandoms and I should lay off it; they don't see my বন্ধু listening to KPop 24/7. And whenever we hear সঙ্গীত that's not in English, my parents will go all like; that's আপনি KPop again, isn't it?

And my বন্ধু also can't accept the fact, they'll get all annoyed if I talk about KPop ad don't know anything about the latest American Music. They gradually stopped talking to me about Music.

And I want to go to Korea. I always wanted to. But my parents and বন্ধু will be all mad saying I really am too obsessed. And if I spout out facts about যেভাবে খুশী countries (interested in study of the world and countries~) and suddenly go to Korea (and জাপান for that matter =_=) they will flinch and look at me like I've grown an extra head অথবা something.

I really want to stop this treatment, but I'm not willing to go shut up about Korea (and Japan) just because of this. They have to accept the fact, but I really don't know what to do. Can someone help me on this? because of this.

same here. I've completely forgotten about the American songs now in these days. My grandma used to be like your parents too. But now she's okay with it because i have good grades. My বন্ধু also like kpop. In your case, i think talking less about কেপপ will help. if আপনি don't like american hip hop don't bother listening to it অথবা talking about it.

I am so sorry to hear that your family and বন্ধু do not accept your কেপপ love. I too have friend who is absolutely intolerant of it. I will mention just the name "Super Junior" and suddenly she'll get angry and shut me up. However, I was lucky enough to find people who understood me and felt the same way about কেপপ as I did. Now I talk to them about it and don't have to bother my other friend. I hope আপনি can find বন্ধু who have the same interests as you. As for the issue of having your family and বন্ধু accept it, I think that আপনি should just tell them that আপনি are who আপনি are. If it's not affecting their lives,so why should they care so much anyways? This may be tough to do, but আপনি should try to stand up for who আপনি are, because no one can change that about you.
