My vision blurring, I was thrust back into the present দিন of my bedroom.
I could still feel my বিছানা underneath my so that meant I hadn’t fallen off which was a good thing. I blinked several times and found Edward watching me anxiously.
“Stop that,” I said, pushing him away from me. He was almost sitting in my lap.
“You are unresponsive when you’re having your premonitions,” he said, sliding back slightly. “I don’t know if you’re okay.”
“I’m unresponsive because I’m not actually here,” I replied, leaning back and closing my eyes, headache approaching.
“But Alice can talk when she has her visions.”
“I’m not Alice.”
He fell silent and I knew he was watching me, worrying as usual. He worried a lot. আরো than usual. It’s just he got so frightened when I had a premonition as I just went unresponsive as he said. I was unfocused and unnaturally still and আরো times than I not I fell over. And as Edward watches me have a premonition he can see my eyes turn red which was blatantly annoying. But what could we do? I was stuck with them.
“I’m sorry,” I said, opening my eyes. “I’d didn’t mean to snap at you.”
I sat up and he smiled his crooked smile.
“So I guess I don’t need to tell আপনি I’m going hunting then,” he said, crawling up and lying beside me.
“I guess not,” I answered, remembering Edward attacking the lion with such fierceness and precision.
“Did আপনি enjoy seeing me hunt?”
I thought for a moment. It wasn’t the worst thing I’d ever seen. It was actually interesting. It was like a lot of calculation had gone into the attack. Edward would lay in wait for the lion, watching and listening for it’s every move. And when the time was right he would jump and strike, one bite to the lion’s neck.
“I’ve never seen myself hunt,” Edward said, watching me replay his attack. “I look like some sort of animal myself, don’t I?”
“You can’t be an animal. You’re too clean. Do আপনি always walk away without a spot of blood on you?”
“Of course,” he answered. “Otherwise it would like odd. It takes practice to kill without getting blood everywhere.”
I shuffled closer to him and lay my head on his cold chest, which was covered with a soft tan sweater. I interlocked my fingers with his.
“Please tell me I won’t have to suffer Alice. All I hear is the wedding.”
It was true. Alice had taken it upon herself to plan the entire wedding. Esme helped whenever she could and Rosalie just didn’t.
“She just needs time to adjust,” Edward reassured me. “You two never spent much time together.”
“That’s because I wanted to keep my head,” I muttered.
He chuckled and kissed my hair.
“She’ll come round.”
I stared down at our intertwined hands. I hoped so অথবা else I’d be one bridesmaid short.

I was running. Running through a dark forest, the canopy of leaves above blocking out any moonlight from reaching me. The darkness did not scare me but it scared my prey. He was wandering through the sinister trees. He was lost, the poor human. Didn’t he know better than to walk through the forest at night? Bad things lived in the shadows of the trees.
I stop running and hide behind a tree, not ten feet from my victim. I could see him clearly even though there was no light. He was standing and looking around. He even turned in a বৃত্ত on the spot. It was evident he was lost. I stepped out from behind the tree, standing directly behind him. I watched him carefully, willing him to continue walking. But he didn’t. He turned around and saw me. His eyes, a চকোলেট brown colour, lit up when he recognised me.
“I’m so glad you’re here. I’m totally lost, can আপনি believe that? I don’t know where I am. Do আপনি remember how আপনি got in here? We can go back the way আপনি came. I’m so silly, me.”
I tilted my head to the side, scrutinising him. What would be the best way to kill him without him making a noise? I didn’t want to have to eat and run.
His eyes showed his fear first. He didn’t understand. Why wasn’t I answering him? Going over to him and telling him how stupid he was for getting lost? Leading him back out of the forest to the safety of home?
But when I didn’t সরানো and continued to stare at him, he got frightened. He realised the change in me too late. He tried to run but I was too fast for him. My teeth sunk into his neck and warm blood flowed into my waiting mouth. He collapsed to the ground, crying out, as his blood poured profusely from his neck and soothed my burning thirst. His blood was too fast for me. Most of it I could drink but some of it overflowed and spilled down my chin. He was silent now. Not a sound escaped from him. That was good; I preferred to eat in silence.

I opened my eyes faster than I would after a dream vision. I knew I’d had this dream before. But it was over a বছর ago. I’m sure I’ve had it. I remember thinking that it was a guilty dream, because I hadn’t told Charlie that I was bitten. That it was me killing Charlie in the dream.
But this wasn’t a dream. It was a premonition. I knew that because I could fall back asleep right now I was so tired. Even though I could see bright white clouds outside my window. And my eyes hurt too. And my head was about to implode on itself. This wasn’t right. I forced myself to sit up, thinking Edward would be here. But he wasn’t. There was a note পরবর্তি to me.

I groaned and rolled out of bed, not having the energy to stand up.
“Charlie?” I called, crawling to my bedroom door. I reached up and opened it. “Dad?”
I heard movement in the kitchen, a chair scraping back and then Charlie’s footsteps.
“Kayla?” he called back. I was at the শীর্ষ of the stairs when he reached the bottom. “What’s wrong?”
“Alice is coming round,” I said. “Please keep her downstairs while I try to summon the energy to stay awake.”
He smiled slightly and nodded.
“Another premonition?”
I nodded back and lay down at the শীর্ষ of the stairs. I was not going to tell Charlie just yet. I would tell Edward when he got back from hunting. He’d know what to do.
“Maybe Alice should come round another time?” Charlie suggested. “Not when you’re like this.”

So much that I needn’t worry about sending objects at people’s heads when angry.
I brushed my hair and tied it up just as the doorbell rang. I sighed when I heard Alice happily greet Charlie. I loved her to bits, I really did, but right now I think I had bigger things to worry about than ফুল arrangements.
