Mr. Ford Goes To Washington – The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 5 – Self Help – Sneak Preview
With last episode being devoted to Beth, this week we will check in on the progress of those on the road to Washington.  Abraham, Rosita, Eugene, Tara, Maggie and Glenn are all along for the bus ride. What could go wrong?
It seems with time to kill, Glenn and Maggie try to garner some more information from Eugene about what awaits them at our Nation’s capital.  After talking in circles, it seems he cannot reveal much due to the fact that things are confidential.  Anyone else smell a rat?
With only one other thing to talk about, Glenn asks the most pertinent question of Eugene, “why the hair!?” A question that makes us ponder, should we believe that a man sporting a mullet holds all the answers? I don’t mean to judge a book by its cover but….
Regardless of what happens this episode, I am thrilled we are going to see more than one person. I am still a bit bummed about last weeks “Bethisode” and I’m not sure I could handle another week of just focusing on one character.
Judging by the first two clips which were released, it seemed this week may be all about Abraham.  However, now we see the others are present as well, phew!  If I can’t have Rick and Daryl, I will make due with Maggie and Glenn.
Abraham Ford the intense ginger seems to be taking his role of leader very seriously.  He is rallying the troops and keeping them focused on the task at hand.  It seems the others may want him to flip that bus around and head back to the church.
This prompts him to go on a rant yelling “WE DON’T GO BACK!”, “retreating means we lose”.  Seems like a power struggle may ensue and it will be interesting to see who stands up to him and who takes which side.  Abraham has a big voice and a lot of brawn but he clearly doesn’t have the skills to motivate and lead a group like Rick (but who does?).
We watch as their group is trying to get into a building and it is unclear if it is for shelter or supplies.  What is clear is they will have to go through a bunch of walkers to get there.  Slaying walkers is old hat for these folks so it shouldn’t be too difficult.
The real difficulty will be the humans and keeping them united, fed, safe and moving towards Washington.  I personally hope their group falls apart, the bus breaks down, or they figure out Eugene really knows nothing at all.
I wish this so they will go back to Rick and the others and be reunited again.  No matter what happens, they will all eventually end up back together so why drag it out? They have all given life outside the group a try, it stunk so stop it!
If I had to guess we won’t see Beth and Carol this week, leaving us to wonder about Carol’s condition.  We also probably won’t solve the mystery of who is over Daryl’s shoulder either.  Even worse, we most likely won’t get an update on the church group, boo!  And speaking of things hanging in the balance, where the heck did Morgan go?
The questions are piling up and I really hope it won’t be weeks before we figure it all out.  Viewers were spoiled by the first three fast paced, action packed episodes.  Last week’s was a bit lack luster so it will be interesting to see how this week goes.
