I actually read link post about manipulating last night.
I agree with thee one comment more than anything in the article.
It is true that Bella used Jacob to gain knowledge, but that's not an abnormal thing to do. Asking questions without completely explaining your motives..
As for Edward, I think all him manipulative tactics were completely acceptable.
