In response to an inquiry to Walt Disney Animation Studios, we were told that it’s very likely that the studio will be releasing a brand new short in 2016. This is, of course, good news. However it appears that the unidentified short is currently in production and so the studio is aiming for a release alongside

(November 23, 2016), so we won’t be seeing a short with

which, according to the BBFC, clocks in at just over 108 minutes in length.

Animator Darrin Butters will be hosting a special behind-the-scenes presentation and Q&A for

at the New School in New York City on February 25, 2015. Admission to the event appears to be free but does require a reservation. Details were posted in the following tweet:

As the tweet mentions, Butters was the one who animated Flash the Sloth in the DMV scene of

which has been (mostly) previewed. And speaking of sloths…

Actress Kristen Bell has officially confirmed our earlier report that she has a cameo in the film, voicing Priscilla the sloth.
