The actress is fully costumed and ready to film, judging by the images. She looks quite different than the way we saw Arya Stark last in season 6, standing over Walder Frey after having just murdered him.

Since these photos are MAJOR spoilers, we’re going to tuck them entirely below the cut, and warn any Unsullied viewers to stay away!

As you’ll see in the images, Maisie is wearing a new brown leather outfit. It’s very similar in design to the one we saw on the new photos of Bella Ramsey as Lyanna Mormont, only the material is different. They have a definite Northern feel to them, and it makes sense for Arya to adopt typically masculine clothing once again, as she has in the past. Overall, she looks very clean and healthy- not at all like the desperate child on the run we’ve seen over the past several years.

So what are we looking at here? Were these photos taken the same day as the photos that included Kit Harington and the others? I suspect they were but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. They were taken in Corbet, Northern Ireland, by Linen Mill Studios, which can handle multiple filming units at once.

Either way, it’s tremendously exciting to see Arya with a new look- although if Arya has come home to her family, will she be able to adjust to it after all she has been through?

I reckon this is the same day.. cant see this pap hanging around for any longer than that and the light is exactly the same (Weather in Northern Ireland changes a LOT in a short space of time).

Besides which- many of the cosmetic stuff is in exactly the same place in the trailer.

If they are the same day with Kit’s and filming with Podeswa( so episodes 1,2), this means Arya is in Winterfell in the first episodes.

I will wait for the photographer to confirm, but anyway as we saw in the painthall video the actors all get their make up in the same place even when they don’t film together.

So much joy!!! With Arya being my favorite character in GoT/ASoIaF and Maisie being my favorite cast member, when I see her in costume for the first time I get happy tears!!

I see the similarity between the top and the sleeves that Arya is wearing to what Bran (and maybe Jon and Robb, if I squint) have worn in the past. But the skirt’s pattern doesn’t look Stark-ish, that’s why I’m worried it may be some Southern outfit. Do they wear similarly cut/patterned clothes in the South (the Riverlands?) perhaps? Although she’s wearing that fluffy looking color under her outfit and that is definitely Northern. I’m keeping my fingers crossed this means she goes home earlier in the season than has been speculated.

But if she does arrive that early in the season, that’s a bit of a surprise to me. Also of interest, whether we see people like McCann and the Brotherhood actors.

In earlier posts about these pap photos I took the position that the photographer would have sold the high-value actors first (though the DM article with this photo doesn’t seem to realize the significance of Arya’s wardrobe), but if this is from the same day, apparently not. So perhaps there are other castmembers still to come after all.

Podeswa was identified as having been present in the photographs taken, so if they’re only filming for one director in these images, it would presumably be him. Now, as I said above, it’s equally possible that multiple directors were working here and this isn’t all one big scene.

Because the guy who took the pictures has a picture of Kit and Podeswa in his profile.

Definitely, that’s the meeting the world has been waiting for since book 1 came out. Throw in Tyrion and the Big Trifecta together on screen will melt everyone’s TVs.

Arya meeting Melisandre has already been prophesied by Melisandre herself.

I don’t really see what the significance of Mel running into the Brotherhood instead would be. They’re already planning to go North, and the Hound, the only significant character there, doesn’t know Mel from Adam.

If there were on-set pictures of Maisie and Kit together, I would explode.

Exactly. If Jaime is in KL and Brienne with Arya in Winterfell… what’s the point of bringing back the BWB or Gendry? Also Melisandre has to meet Arya before she dies, and the eyes prophecy.Arya misses the green eyes.

It’s uncommon for the show to have a storyline without a main character, and since they film in Riverrun those scenes there may be a chance Arya starts from where we left her. Brienne has already been on her way so making to Winterfell in the first episodes is logic.

I am just speculating,but i like Arya and i want to watch her storyline.

It’s not such a stretch- she did say in ep8 that she was going home, and then turns up at the Twins in ep 10. So making it to WF by the first few episodes makes a lot of sense.

TBWOB are further south in the Riverlands so I’m guessing they will turn up some time later..it was only ever supposition she’d be hooking up with them in any case.

It’s possible the sequence would be: 1.Arya meets and joins up with the Hound and the brotherhood in the Riverlands, who are traveling north.

2. All of them meet Mel, who is traveling south. They talk, Mel gives Arya news of Jon, Sansa, etc. and of course, the WWs. They continue north, whereas Mel continues south because she was banished from the north. Thus a meeting would result in vital exchange of info.

Now this is giving me hopes of a scene where Arya teaches Sansa how to fight… she becomes her dancing master. That would be amazing.

Arya’s outfit looks definitely Northern: her aunt Lyanna wore similar when we saw her in Bran’s visions. And the pattern of the skirt is hardly significant in this case. Lyanna Mormont wore very formal Mormont uniform last season decorated the same way as her soldiers’ clothes, but here we see her in a less formal outfit and this makes me think that this is a standard riding/travelling costume of a young northern girl.

That said I wonder why the red-haired gal confused for Sansa’s double wore a dress in combination with the sword? One more clue that she had to leave her home ASAP?

As for Arya’s reunion with her family I have a bad feeling. Of cause, they will reunite but what’s next? It looks like Arya’s skills are meant to be used in KL rather than in the North. Of cause, she learned to recognize lies and that should be important for Littlefinger’s/Sansa’s story-line, but still at some point I expect Arya to go for Cersey. So, the question is whether she persuades Jon to make use of her skills or she goes rogue and goes to KL on her own account? I would say the later is more probable and that scares me, because at the end Arya may indeed become no-one.

The issue isn’t travel time — the point where Varys traveled from Dorne to Meereen and then at least part of the way back in one episode should make clear that travel time doesn’t matter — but rather, all of the things the show has seemed to be setting up. There’s a confluence of characters in the Riverlands, they were reported to be doing work on the Riverrun set a while back, and Gendry is apparently coming back. While one could imagine Arya meeting Melisandre on the road in episode 1 and then getting to Winterfell for episode 2, it seems like a big stretch to cover all of the stuff mentioned above that swiftly.

There’s also a bunch of issues about how all this fits into the Northern political story they keep teasing, but then, I have even bigger questions about how the semi-omniscient Bran’s return will affect that.

Sansa’s not a combatant and has never expressed any interest in learning to fight. It’s not what she’s meant to be good at.

What I think maybe this time Brianne is the one to bring Arya to Winterfell….. that way she fulfilled her ought to Catelyn (we already saw the pics of Brianne and Pod) in another matter Carice is still in maternity leave the scenes is delayed

Other than Joe Dempsie being spotted at the Belfast Airport, do we have any true confirmation of Gendry’s return? I really hope so, as am Arya/Gendry shipper, but what if Joe was just there for a wedding or something……?

Well…she looks like she’s washed her hair. Who knows, she might not be wearing her own face in those scenes.

With 7 episodes this season, the pace will obviously be picking up fast (as the cast have indicated many times), so it kinda makes sense

It’s equally possible that they’re filming more than one scene ( as jeez, half the cast are there) but surely that’d be pretty complicated having several camera crews around at once?

I know they’ve done that in the past but Banbridge studios are nowhere near as big as the Paint Hall; two camera crews would be tripping over one another and I thought the whole point of extending the filming period by several months (as well as a truncated season), was to give them the required breathing space and time for production.

That would require her heartrate to go above 70, and that’s not ladylike.

It may happen that Melisandre won’t show up in this season at all: her meeting with Arya may be postponed till S8 (which would be the sign that Arya survives the wars to come). Another option is that Melisandre will pop up in Volantis: she went south after Jon banished her, but why would she go to Riverlands? To consult Thoros of Myr? Possibly, but why wouldn’t she board the ship at the White Harbor and go to consult her chief priestess? Just saying…

As excited as I am for a Jon and Arya reunion, I believe I might be more excited to see Jon witness her skills. It may be unlikely but I still think it would be cool for her to be in disguise and she “defaces” in front of him for their reunion. That’s one way for Jon to see immediately that she’s not just been hiding out scared for all that time… that she’s been trained. Who knows if he’s ever heard of the Faceless Men, but I would think he’s heard stories.

They didn’t extend the filming time overall, they just pushed it back by several weeks. They do try to avoid filming multiple units in the same place as much as possible, but actor/production schedules can still make that unavoidable.

Do we know for definite that Podeswa is filming Eps 1 and 2? Film & TV often shoot scenes ( and eps) out of sequence, especially if CGI is required in post-production. Having said that, I’d love this to be more of a Northern war council meeting (against Walkers). It certainly does seem “high stakes”…! And I’d love Arya to get to Winterfell sooner than later -she did tell J’aquen that she was going home. Stark family reunion!!

I, for one, am convinced the first person the BwB will meet will be BriPod… and it can be glorious : the Hound and Brienne recognizing each other, before Brienne says (one way or another) that she is now serving Sansa at Winterfell. That would definitly convince the Hound to go north, if he’s not convinced already.

It wasn’t quite explicit, but he gave an interview a while back that seemed to imply it fairly strongly. It’s cited in one of the earlier threads dealing with these pictures, but I can’t find it at the moment.

Looks like she’s going to be dressed as a Northerern Faceless woman to check out Winterfell for traitors. Maybe LF and Sansa mayhaps?

In relation to her costume, it does not seem especially Stark-like to me, nor even particularly Northern… It is undeniably similar to Bella Ramsay’s but, while I may very well be wrong, it is the fairly standard “civilian noble man” look in Westeros.

Tyrion’s attire, from season 1 to 4, was in the same vein, both in cut and in fabric.

Now, considering that Ms. Williams was photographed on one of the Northern sets, on what appears to be the same day as many Northern characters does strongly suggest another Stark reunion (yeah ! ^^) but the costume in and by itself is not hugely indicative, I believe.

OMG!! I’m fangirling hard! She looks awesome! Everyone says that her outfit is Northern, but it kinda reminds me of Oberyn’s…driving now so can’t check. I will break down in tears if she reunites with Jon this season!

The same guy selling all these pics also has a shot of Kit with Director Jeremy Podeswa who is charge of ep 1 & 2!!!!! So that means Arya returns to Winterfell by at least ep2!!!

Rory was spotted like back in late August early Sept. Maisie has been filming since mid-August.

IF…IF…IF…we were to get Arya/Jon vs Sansa/LF then that would give us an added element to the inevitable politics in season seven. Not saying it will happen, but that it would be interesting if it did.

Not filming. The principal photography started in September, the actors had been in and out of Belfast prior to that for the costume fitting, table reads, rehearsals and so on.

You wanted to know the name of that person. I remember nickname – i think awayforthelads. Stil think and hope it’s a BS because some stuff just doesn’t make any sense.

I think the reunion will be short-lived. Arya still has a lot to do, and I don’t see her playing a significant role in the war with the White Walkers. IMO, she will head back to KL with the Hound after some quality time with the family- hoping to take out the dynamic duo of Cersei and the Mountain. But it’ll be extremely satisfying to see every living Stark at the same place, which is what I hope is happening.

BTW, when do people start theorizing Arya takes Mormont’s face? It’s bound to happen.

Excited she’s going North and not South like others predicted. Cersei is going to deal with Tyrion and Jaime, which is much more dramatic. It makes no sense to me for Arya to kill her.

She could possibly bring Nymeria and her Wolfpack, but as there’s really been no mention of this on the show, I’m thinking this is unlikely (although Nymeria and Gendry are a few of the last remaining mysteries).

Hmm…if Sophie hasn’t started filming yet, Sansa was definitely absent from the scene or scenes for which the actors in costume were snapped in the past few weeks. Some are assuming all the pap pics from the three separates batches–Kit/Liam/Gwen/AG/Megan Parkinson batch, Kristofer/Maester Wolkan’s actor/AG in costume batch, Lyanna Mormont batch–were all taken on the same day. That doesn’t seem likely, since the pap claimed that the Lyanna Mormont photo, posted on October 10th, was taken “last week,” meaning the week of the 3rd, and the first pap photos were released the week of September 26th, two weeks prior). The Arya photo is also likely much more recent than the Jon/Brienne/Davos batch, since the Daily Mail undoubtedly would have snapped up a Maisie Williams photo to publish with the rest had it been offered up at that time.

Could the fact that the Arya and Lyanna Mormont pictures were released around the same time mean that it’s Arya and Lyanna who have a scene together? They are dressed in very similar outfits with different colouring (grey for Lyanna and brown for Arya). Arya’s missing a belt, but I’m guessing that’s because she’s going to wear a belt with Needle.

I hope none. Gendry is not important at all in the book and Hound and Arya would be too repetitive. Their arc is done so I hope her story will focus on reunion with Jon, Sansa and Bran. I hope Jaqen and Melisandre will show up as well.

I second that ! I think actually Mel and Hound with BwB will meet and Arya could meet Melisandre much later in the season or maybe even in season 8 when they all will unite to fight WW. I would love to see Jaqen finding Melisandre :)) Maybe they all will join their forces.

I hope all those fan service that we’ve been fed in season 6 is over. I don’t want to see Hound and Arya o Gendry all over again. It’ s GoT, things have to move on ! :))

Maybe this is a stupid question but are all these photos from the set taken by fans? or reporters that hbo gives permission to hang out on set? Because HBO has done things before to mislead fans (like Shae in full costume on set last season), so maybe Genry is not coming back next season or Aria is not going North… maybe HBO allows these “spoilers” because they are trolling us

I think Gendry is a far more important character in the books than Jaquen who only played a smaller part.

Really great pics of Maisie in costume. My heart would burst if we could finally see the surviving Stark children again in Winterfell. Arya told Jaqen she was going home. To Winterfell or just home which could mean Westeros in general.? Being as how S6 ended with her at the Twins I don’t think she’ll be heading south to the Riverlands, but I could see her running into Pod and Brienne on their way back North. My dream scenario would be for her and Nymeria to finally be together again, but based on the fact we don’t even know where Ghost is currently that probably won’t happen. So for that fact I’m thinking she won’t turn up at the gates of Winterfell with her wolf.:( I’m holding out hope that Arya, Bran, Sansa and Jon will all be together again even if only for a short amount of time. The Starks have been through so much and unfortunately, we know this isn’t a fairytale, so I’m pretty sure they’ll suffer more in the seasons to come. No. The pics of Arya and Lyanna Mormont were taken the same day as Jon, Brienne, LF and Davos…etc. It says so in the article. All the pics in-costume were taken on Sept 23rd. The photographer is a paparazzi selling pics of celebs to the media.

Think this could either portray Arya in the Riverlands with the Brotherhood without Banners, or in preparation for combat with her brother/ cousin and his followers up in the North. Judging by her costume, and its similarity to Lady Mormont’s, I’m inclined to believe it might be the latter.

Yeah and Mel’s prophecies have always been so accurate haven’;t they? Here is the kicker we know both Arya and Mel can change the way they look. They can easily meet again without both knowing they are meeting or even with both not even knowing they are meeting again. I wouldn’t take that line from Mel to serious.

I say Arya is going North. It is a time where the two main original families have to deal with their respective family issues. It is interesting because the Starks and Lannisters are dealing with completely different types of situations. With the Starks we trying to find out if they can come together as a family and handle the politics of the North. With the Lannisters we are curious who will be coming out alive with Tyrion coming to town and Cersei in control. I always liked the line where Dany told Tyrion that the other Lords are allowed to ask for forgiveness and mercy. Interesting dynamic with Cersei still alive and Tyrion back in the Capital with Dany. he would be so paranoid.
