"Alice, what did I do wrong?" I asked uneasily.

I finally gathered enough courage to get out of my truck and walk to the door. The short walk to the door felt like centuries. I just wanted this to be over and done with. When I got to the door, I knocked on it three times.

Billy answered the door. Great.

"Hi, Billy, um is Jacob here? I need to talk to him," I said, returning the fake smile.

I heard Billy shut the door. I felt like I was going to cry. Again. I've been crying all week long, I'm surprised that I still have tears to cry. I am about 90% sure that Jacob was there, in his room just waiting for me to leave. Does he know how much he is hurting me? He has to know, because I've told him countless times that I loved him and that my life would be nothing without him. Well , I was not lying because right now, my life feels like a whole lot of nothing.
