I decided to take a nice, warm bath while Michael was away. He wouldn't tell me what he was leaving for and I wasn't allowed to know until tonight. I couldn't take all this in. I think she must have sensed my unease.

"You have to go! Before it's too late."
"I can't, Jade. I'm supposed to be here for a week...And I have no car to go anywhere..."

The following morning
