Once you\'d got over the initial OHMAGAHDGERDHELP emotions One Direction\'s \'Perfect\' music video inspired within you, one of the questions you probably asked yourself was \'hey, who\'s that girl?\'
You know, the brunette seen larking about with the guys in a hotel room, before Harry Styles playfully covers her eyes. The one we all want to be and are trying to be happy for, despite the burning flame of jealousy in our fangirl hearts. Ahem.
ANYWAY - now said girl has come forward to chat about her experience of being in an ACTUAL ONE DIRECTION VIDEO HOW IS SHE EVEN STILL ALIVE, and reveal exactly how it all happened in the first place.

Her name is Dana Matthews, and she works for GQ, booking talent for their cover shoots and interviews. Before that, she worked for Teen Vogue, which is how she knows the 1D boys - having worked with them several times for the mag.
Speaking to her former colleagues at Teen Vogue, Dana revealed all about her \'Perfect\' experience:
"One Direction and Columbia records are a big relationship of mine," she said, of how her cameo came about.  "I\'ve been a supporter of the boys from the beginning."
Errrr sorry, we\'re gonna have to stop you there Dana, because YEAH so have we (in fact way before anyone in the USA even knew who they were) and WE didn\'t get invited to star in the vid. NO WE\'RE NOT BITTER.
Clearly creating one of the most iconic videos of the fetus era - fave words for boobs, anyone? - doesn\'t count for anything in this world. But no, not bitter.
and I genuinely loved working with them. Something clicked. Mike Navarra, their publicist, is a good friend of mine and asked me to be in the video as someone in the journalism world they trust and know well."
"When I first got the call, I was honestly in shock," said Dana.  "I also wasn\'t sure if I\'d be in town because it\'s was an incredibly busy time at GQ. Thankfully, I was.
"I was so honored, but I was also just excited to see them. This is such an exciting time for them. Their fifth album in five years. And they\'re a fun crew to be around."
As for what it was actually like to film the scene, well, Dana decided that it was about time to make us all even more jealous, because that\'s just how she rolls, apparently (we joke, we joke, she seems super nice):
I got off the elevator and it was a full One Direction production," she said. "They had an entire floor to themselves. We shot the scene several times, with them coming in and giving me a hug. I got lots of hugs.
"Then we all sat around the table. There were tiny sandwiches, and the boys were eating Mint Milanos — because you can\'t say no to those. We were joking around and just talking. It\'s funny, because I have been in a hotel room with them, interviewing them, just like that.
"They were telling me all these fun stories about tour. I was laughing so hard. I can\'t believe they included the part where Harry covered my eyes — that was definitely not planned.
"We talked about the new album... I was telling them about my favorite songs, which are \'Fireproof\' and \'18\', and they were like, "Aw, we love 18! 18 could have been a great single."
"Their favourite songs are "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Girl Almighty," because in a stadium with 60,000 people, Niall was like, \'you just wake up when you sing a song like that\'.
"They still love to get into mischief and have fun while they work. By the end of the shoot, there were throwing oranges at each other".
So there you have it - that\'s what it\'s like to be the only girl on a One Direction video shoot. Quite the claim to fame. Although can you say that you are the reason the Mario Kart interview exists, Dana? CAN YOU?
No really, the word bitter isn\'t even in our vocabulary.
What do you make of all this? Let us know with a tweet over @Sugarscape if you want. Oh, and you can read her full interview with Teen Vogue here.
