Papa Roach Play ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?’
This episode of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?‘ features the full lineup of Papa Roach! What is true and what is false on the band’s various Wikipedia pages? We sought to find out for this exclusive clip!
There’s a lot of history in Papa Roach — 22 years to be exact — and sometimes the online game of telephone can result in a few misprints on Wikipedia. In this episode of our signature segment, Jacoby Shaddix, Jerry Horton, Tobin Esperance and Tony Palermo offer the truth on Papa Roach’s career, adding in a few awesome anecdotes, as well.
Papa Roach actually began on the football field, where rock ‘n’ roll quickly became a priority over the gridiron once vocalist Jacoby Shaddix and former drummer Dave Bucker decided to form a band. Guitarist Jerry Horton soon joined Papa Roach, but was hesitant at first — though it’s not because of the reason Wikipedia offers.
We delve further into the band’s legacy by getting into Papa Roach’s breakout 2000 album,
and the nu-metal anthem “Last Resort.” The band clear up a Wiki falsehood about the song’s video while speaking of its heavily censored “radio friendly” version.
Papa Roach also address accusations of ripping off Iron Maiden, a greatest hits CD which the band asked their fans not to buy, Jacoby’s son’s natural talent for dreaming up music videos and much more.
