It was only surprised is because they weren't in Harry's life like Ron or Hermione. They were adults who had a somewhat separate life. So we didn't see it like we say Harry and Ginny.

I approve of the marriage, sort of... Remus belongs with Sirius, no question. But, Tonks wants to have a baby. She's pretty young still, so it doesn't make sense for the woman-approaching-menopause-goes-crazy-mus­t-r­epr­odu­ce usual way it happens, but maybe it has more to do with something along the lines of Voldemort-is-back-everyone-is-dying-I-migh­t-b­e-n­ext­-mu­st-­rep­rod­uce­. Problem: Tonks is gay too. Conveniently for her, she has an altogether wonderful (and recently bereaved) male gay friend. Perfect beard for her, perfect father for her child. He's not quite so enthusiastic about the idea, but she wins him over eventually. They marry. They reproduce. They die. It's sad.

Tonks and Sirius aren't so very different themselves. Rebellious outcasts of the family Black. Good-guys with the bad-boy attitude and lots of black leather. The hole left by Sirius can't be filled, but Tonks could probably come closer to filling it than anyone else could.

Tonks is my mortal enemy. She and Lupin are a HORRIBLE couple!!! Tonks sucks!!!!!! You might say I'm weird to choose this opinion but hey, if he hadn't married TONKS, HE WOULD OF NEVER DIED!!!

I think it was really sweet, even though in the later books we never saw much of the couple interacting. Though I would definately ship TonksxLupin most, I still ship HermionexLupin because I'm a dork like that.

I felt they got married a bit fast, given that they only reconciled and the couple was only revealed at the end of the previous book. But then, that was the wartime marriage rush Molly was attributing Fleur and Bill's wedding to as well. And since they died at the end of the series, if they hadn't gotten married quickly they wouldn't have been able to at all.

I used to be jealous, but I've grown to like Tonks. Sad she died ):
