History: Was born and raised in Venice, Italy as Roxanne Weston. Her parents tried to protect their only child from their family's secret: each generation of their ancestors had sent their lineage to the temple of the League of Shadows in hopes that they would survive to become proud, fully fledged assassins. On Roxy's 13th birthday, her parents were killed দ্বারা a rivaling cult known as the Devil's Descendants. She knew she couldn't take down the entire cult on her own, so she went to the the League of Shadows to train her.
দ্বারা the age of 16, she succeeded in taking out the entire cult, earning her the শিরোনাম "Mistress of Revenge". Mistress stayed with the League until sent on a mission to find a rouge Shadow. When she caught up to the rouge, she discovered why she had run from the League: the woman was protecting an infant, her son, from the dangerous tradition of the League. Remembering that her parents had done the same to protect her, Mistress let the woman and child to escape, then disappeared herself.
Especially angered was her lover, another Shadow who she had trained beside and who had been sharing a secret relation with for nearly 2 yrs. Feeling betrayed and abandoned, he vowed to one দিন find her again and get an explanation.
Roxanne spent the পরবর্তি three years as an American, but applied her skills for good as a U.S. Marine. On a mission in Iraq, she helped to rescue a group of scientists. One scientist she saved was Dr. Riley Conners. He called her his Angel, and once he got back to the States, wrote her letters to which she happily responded to.
At the end of her tour, Roxy immediately went to Gotham to see Riley. He presented her with a silver অ্যাঞ্জেল নেকলেস so that she "could always have her own অ্যাঞ্জেল to protect her". Six months later they were married. Roxanne Weston became Roxanne Conners. In the following years, the couple had three children: a daughter and two sons, one of which had a remarkable mutation in his DNA that allowed him to turn invisible on will. When their daughter, the youngest, was a বছর old, a group of Shadows broke into their apartment in Manhattan, New York.
Riley hid the children in a hidden passage in the kitchen. While their parents fought two of the assassins, a third snuck past and managed to find Daemian (9 yrs old) trying to keep his baby sister quiet. Declan (4 yrs old), however, had turned invisible in his pain. Unable to control his power, he reappeared behind the assassin trying to run away. Imagining how valuable the ability combined with the skills of a trained Shadow would be, the Shadow swept up the boy, looked at the baby in her brother's arms, whispered, "When you're older.....", and disapeared into the night, followed দ্বারা the other 2 Shadows.
Devistated দ্বারা the abduction of their younger son, Riley and Roxanne moved their family to a town house in New Jersey. Daemian's father made him swear never to speak of Declan to Aryess অথবা anyone, warning him that it could endanger their entire family. He and his wife raised their son and daughter as normal kids for the পরবর্তি 6 years, though Roxy knew all the time the Shadows would be back for them. When her daughter turned 3, she gave her the silver angel. "So that আপনি will always have an অ্যাঞ্জেল to protect you," she told the young Aryess.
She was then prepared when one night, a man dressed in dark cloaks broke into the house and into the room Aryess and Daemian shared. Riley ran in to find the man hovering over a sleeping Deamian (15 yrs old) almost in a daze and immediately aimed a shotgun at him. Roxy ran in behind him and was shocked when she recognized her old lover. He was angered to find that she had not only married, but the rumors of her children and the young Declan being trained as a Shadow being her son were true.
Though the true events of that night are uncertain, they ended in Riley getting Aryess (6 yrs) and Daemian out of the house safely, but then rushing back inside to rescue his wife. Both Roxanne Conners and Riley Conners perished in the fire, along with the cloaked man.
