Narrator

Let me introduce Dustin, he is an average sized নেকড়ে that has dust brown পশম with brown eyes to match. He is an Alpha নেকড়ে who lives with the Western pack in Jasper Park. Although he may seem like your average Alpha নেকড়ে deep down inside he is far from it. He doesn't know it yet but he was born with a gift, the gift of being able to change yourself into any other creature, a shape shifter. There have been myths told throughout the generations of this pack that tell of a নেকড়ে that was a shape shifter and used his powers for good instead of evil. Dustin didn't believe the myth but he was skeptic about it, and wondered if in fact it was possible for a নেকড়ে to be able to shape shift.

Dustin's POV

I was walking back from a hunt with the rest of the hunting party. The hunt had been successful, Hutch and Kate both took down a caribou and were dragging them beside me. I had managed not to catch anything due to the fact that I was thrown off the caribou I was trying to take down. It was now late afternoon and the sun was getting lower and lower in the sky. We arrived at the খাবার pile for the pack and Kate along with Hutch both but their caribous beside the others. Kate ব্যক্ত she had to go see how Humphrey was doing and left Hutch and I দ্বারা the খাবার pile.

"Well I'm sure the pack will be happy two new caribous brought in." Hutch ব্যক্ত beside me

"Yeah" I ব্যক্ত just then Kate had returned from checking on Humphrey

"That was fast" I said

"Another successful hunt huh Kate" Hutch said

"Well if Dustin over here didn't fall of this caribou then it would have been successful." She said

This ticked me off "Hey i was just off my game a little today." I said

"Oh admit it Dustin you're not all that great when it comes to hunting." She said

"Oh yeah! I'll প্রদর্শনী আপনি just how good I am" I said

"Are আপনি challenging me?" She said

"Yes I am, tomorrow at noon I challenge আপনি to a hunting competition, person who catches the biggest caribou wins." I said, I wasn't going to be told I suck at hunting দ্বারা another Alpha especially the head female Alpha of the pack.

"Okay you're on" She ব্যক্ত before she turned around and walked away

Hutch looked at me wide eyed "What?" I said

"You know there's no way আপনি can win against her" He said

He shook his head "What happened to you?" He ব্যক্ত "You used to be a nice and strong Alpha, but now you've become soft and are a bit of a nuisance now." He said

As far as Hutch knew I had just changed my personality but ever since that night two days পূর্বে something in me just changed.

Flashback

I was sitting দ্বারা a small lake that was a few miles from the Western territory. I often walked all the way out here just to clear my thoughts in the peace and quiet. It was near midnight and I was looking at the moon as it reflected off of the lake. Suddenly a bright flash came out of the sky and crashed into the lake before me. An odd greenish glow illuminated in the lake just a few yards in front of me. I decided to walk into the shallows of the lake to get a better look at the foggy green light that was just below the surface. I walked out into the lake and stopped when my chest was about touch the water surface. I could see that the green glowing fog was now slowly rotating in a circle. I just watched wondering if I was just imagining seeing this. Suddenly the fog spun faster and faster until it was about a foot অথবা two out of the water. I slowly backed away but as I did the fog just got closer and closer to me. I turned around and ran up onto কূল but as soon as I got there the fog enveloped me blocking my sight. All I could see was the ground below my paws and the green glowing fog all around me. I thought I heard a voice say "You are now one of us" but I just thought it was my imagination. After I heard the voice the fog started to go up my nostrils, all I could do was just stand there. At this point I was too afraid to moved; I just sat there and watched wide eyed as all of the fog went up my nose. Once the fog was gone everything seemed to be back to normal, I felt slightly dizzy and sick. I decided to not tell anyone about this experience because I just thought I had imagined it all and feared they wouldn't believe me. I walked back প্রথমপাতা and went straight to bed.

End of Flashback

"Umm... Hello?" I heard Hutch say as I snapped back onto reality.

"Oh sorry I was just thinking" I said

"Yeah for about five minutes" He ব্যক্ত "I think I'm going to go, I've got some stuff to do before I go to bed, see u later Dustin." He walked away and left me alone দ্বারা the খাবার pile.

I looked around and noticed that the sun had already set and was now turning dark 'Wow where did all of the time go' I thought 'I guess I'll just grab a quick snack before going to বিছানা early.' I was about to grab a caribou leg when I heard a voice beside me.

"Well looks like Dustin is stealing some caribou" The voice said

I turned to see Hunter and his friend that was always দ্বারা his side, Hunter was an Alpha and me and him never got along. He was black furred and was the same size as myself.

"Oh it looks like Hunter has come to give me a hard time" I ব্যক্ত a bit annoyed

"Shut it Dustin" He snapped "How about আপনি run along and I'll take that caribou leg."

I would usually back away from any conflict but something in my head told me to defend what I had already claimed. "Sorry but I have already claimed this piece" I said

"Oh really?" He ব্যক্ত slowly getting closer to me "You got a lot of guts saying that to me."

"You don't scare me Hunter" I ব্যক্ত getting slightly angry

"Well let's change that shall we" He ব্যক্ত before charging at me pining me to the ground "Now hand over the meat and I won't break anything" He said

I felt enraged at him for trying to always take away my খাবার from me. I suddenly felt a warm feeling build up in me, It also felt like my body was being warped and transformed. Hunter got off me and backed away from me I could see fear in his eyes. It felt like my পশম was getting softer and my body was getting larger, I looked at my paws and saw that my claws were now razor sharp and could extend and retract. My পশম was now a light brown and my tail longer and less furry then it had been.

"What's happening to me" I ব্যক্ত as I looked my body

"It's a mountain lion, run!" Hunter yelled as he and his friend ran away

"A mountain lion?" I ব্যক্ত to myself

I decided to walk to the river and look at my reflection, sure enough my original body was now replaced দ্বারা a mountain lions. I was shocked 'This can't be happening the must be a dream' I thought to myself but it all fell to real for it to be a dream. Then it hit me, the Legend of the Shape Sifter. 'Well if that legend is true and I am a Shape Shifter. Then I should be able to change back into my original self.' I thought to myself 'Hmm I got to think 'I want to be my original self again' I stood there but nothing happened 'I want to be Dustin again' Then I could feel my body start to warp and shrink, my পশম and tail turned back to normal and my color was dusty brown again. 'Well that worked' I thought to myself 'I think I should call it a night before something else happens' I walked back to my গর্ত and tried to absorb everything that has happened within the last hour, I fell asleep and recalled the Legend that was told to me about a বছর ago.
