I watched Wynter crawl back through the hole from which she came. My paw mindlessly sought for the stinging in my face. She hit me. My best friend. My only friend.....hit me. She had every right to be mad. I betrayed her. She believed I was dead. What kind of friend does that? I guess I do. I was disgusted with myself and I started to cry. "Here let me help আপনি up." I turned excitedly. "Wynter I'm so sorry I-" it wasn't my best friend that was offering to help me, no, it was Kate. My ears flattened against my skull as I was assisted up. Ashamed of myself, I looked at the ground. Kate stood in front of me and remained there until I looked up. As I looked up, was expecting to see Kate's face with some sort of pity. I was wrong...again. She locked her scornful eyes onto mine. "What the hell were আপনি thinking?! Do আপনি know that দ্বারা pulling that little stunt, আপনি put our lives in danger?!" I nodded. "Yes and I'm sorry." She snapped and I stepped back and started to cry harder. "BULLSHIT. আপনি aren't sorry. If আপনি actually cared about any of us, if আপনি cared about Wynter, আপনি would've stayed dead and hidden." She continued to walk closer and closer until I couldn't back up anymore. "You don't deserve a friend like her, all আপনি do is hold her back." How could I deny it? It was true. "You don't care about Wynter." I took a step forward. "God dammit Kate, I was scared! I'm not like আপনি and Wynter! That thing, whatever it was, was after me! Yeah I fled, in fear of my life! I don't want to die! And I didn't want anybody else to get hurt because of me! Don't আপনি dare প্রশ্ন my প্রণয় for my best friend!" Kate looked shocked, but retaliated. "And আপনি running away helped nobody! Thanks to you..." she poked my chest "...Wynter has been relentlessly trying to avenge you! We just got our asses handed to us and why is that? Because of আপনি Lexi, because of you!" I held my paw where she poked me. "Grow up Lexi! আপনি can't laugh your way out of everything!" Once again she was right. I felt like my head was about to explode with all the thoughts going through it. I looked at my paw and saw blood. Blood? But how? Kate must have noticed too. Her tone instantly changed. "Oh shit Lexi I didn't mean to." I looked at my chest where she poked me. Only she didn't poke me, she stabbed me with her claw. We locked eyes again and this time I saw pity. "Lexi..." I didn't wait for her to finish and I exited the cave via the small tunnel. Kate of course followed me all the way out. "Where are আপনি going?" I turned and looked at her and spoke with a তিক্ত tone. "I know how to stop this, and I plan on doing so. Time for me to grow up." Kate walked in front of me. "Oh hell no আপনি aren't! আপনি are in no shape to go anywhere, আপনি should still be getting medical help." I dismissed her and walked to a puddle to get a look at myself. Patches of পশম missing, a piece of my tail gone, a few broken ribs, countless gashes and two fresh scratches. One from Wynter, one from Kate. "Since when do আপনি care Kate? আপনি ব্যক্ত it yourself. It'd be better if I stayed dead remember?" She hesitated. "I'm sorry, I let my anger get the best of me. But regardless, আপনি aren't going to try to stop that wolf." I couldn't fight her even if I wanted to, so as of now, we remained in the cave.

"Wynter wait up!" I looked back and sped up. "You need to go back and help Lexi." I growled at Humphrey. "You'll shut the hell up if আপনি know what's good for you." He didn't listen as I expected. "She's your best friend Wynter." I quickly turned and he flinched. "Was. My best friend, was." Humphrey seemed determined to get on my bad side. "But Wynter, she was the whole reason why we even set out on this expedition. Are আপনি really going to let it all go to waste?" I growled again. "Humphrey, I ব্যক্ত to shut the hell up." He talked with a bit of anger in his voice which was unusual for him. "Are আপনি going to hit me like আপনি hit Lexi?" What's he talking about? "I didn't hit Lexi." He looked at me. "Umm yeah, আপনি did. Cut her pretty good too." I stopped and sat. No, it was impossible, I would never hit her. Although I was pissed, I would never hit her. I looked at my paw and saw some of Lexi's fur. I felt absolutely sick to my stomach. I did hit her. "You really should go bac- ...... Wynter?" I took off. I was going to get my best friend back.
