Chris decided to put on a nice face for the day. It was a wonderful morning. The temprature was just right for him. He opened his notebook and decided to flick through it. He stared hard at blueprints he'd drawn before, wondering how he could make them with the useless pile of crap he had to work with. Then somthing caught his eye. Chris kept two kinds of things in his notebook. Blueprints and Instructions. Instructions to do amazing things with normal objects. Like for example, making a radio out of two toothbrushes and a razor, অথবা dropping a vase from a সেকেন্ড story window at an angle so that it did not smash as it hit the ground, then detailed instructions on laughing at the people who try to replicate your trick. But this perticular trick was very valuable to Chris. He'd learnt it from a russian man known only as the poker master, at work. He was a man who not only caught cheats at poker, but also aprehended them. With a simple card trick. "If আপনি throw the card at the exact right angle," He'd said. "It can cut through anything." He'd shown Chris, and after a few attempts, Chris had managed to slice through a glass with the card. "And these are normal cards?!"
The poker master had smiled. "Of course."
From that দিন on, Chris had always kept a deck of cards on him. He'd written down the instructions for the throw in his notebook. He pulled out an ace and threw it at a nearby branch. সেকেন্ড later, he was jumping out of the way to avoid being squashed দ্বারা it. He settled on the ledge again, staring into the valley that seperated the Western নেকড়ে dens from the Eastern নেকড়ে dens. A single bridge connected them. It looked pathetic, even from where chris was. If that thing didn't break within two months, he'd eat his fedora. But Chris had better things to do than worry about a weak bridge. Worry about his life, for example. He'd প্রদত্ত up trying to get himself to change back into a human. He was a নেকড়ে now. Still, at least he was hidden. He was নিরাপদ here, and Chris had to admit, he was happy. It was lovely here in Jasper, and he never wanted to leave. Never ever, ev-
"Excuse us, Chris."
Chris looked around. Kate was there, and Humphrey. "You two are up early." He said, moving out of the way.
"Yeah," Kate said. "I just thought i'd go and hold Humphrey under the water until I can see what he is again."
They walked past, Humphrey making the occasional futile attempt to get away. But Kate had been clever. A lock of her পশম was tied firmly into his. He couldn't go.
Those two were so strange. Chris would never understand wolves. It was the same problem he had with girls. Shortly after Kate and Humphrey got to the bottom of the hill, all the rest of the pack নেকড়ে awoke. Saltey and Shakey emerged from the গর্ত with ROMbot, hurridly ব্যক্ত their goodbyes and left to go logboarding, leaving Chris with only Mooch and Darren. He decided he was going to try an idea he'd had for a long time, and asked Darren for a can of Methane.
"Get your own bloody can of methane! D'you think it grows on trees?!"
"Darren. One, there is no shortage of methane, and probably never will be if Chilly John's never goes bust, and two, আপনি haven't despensed for about two years."
Darren grudgingly handed him a can, muttering somthing about rusty springs. Chris took some matches off the stove in the corner. I would tell আপনি his idea, but I think it would be much better if আপনি found out for yourself. He slowly walked outside, put the can between his legs, opened the valve, and lit the gas.

Suddenly, he was flying, Jasper park falling away beneath him as he held on for dear life. "God damnit! I need a way to steer!"
He threw his weight forward, and the can tipped downwards. This was better, only now he could see the lake coming towards him. He began to get used to the way of steering the can: Throwing your weight around and holding on for dear life as your skin is ripped away from your face দ্বারা g-force. He flew over the river, screaming his head off. Humphrey and Kate noticed him. Humphrey pointed, and Kate paused washing behind his ears to gaze in wonder at the flying wolf. For the half সেকেন্ড that he was there. Then he felt somthing grab his leg. He looked behind him. Garth!
"Garth?! What are আপনি doing?"
"Absolotely no idea, Chris. How do we land this thing?"
"Beats me." Chris noticed the lake coming closer. He was unable to steer due to garth's added weight. A sudden yelp indicated that Garth had seen it too. A সেকেন্ড later, they hit it. All the wind was knocked out of the two নেকড়ে as they hit the water. God knew where the can had gone, and in a minute, Chris would be able to ask him. he could not swim. He prepared to say goodbye to the world when suddenly he felt Garth pulling him to safety. A few সেকেন্ড later, they climbed out. Garth lay panting in the sand for a while. Then he got up. "Chris." he said. "Never do that again."
"Sorry, Garth."
Garth limped away. Chris followed him. As they got back to the dens, he heard Kate calling his name. She still hadn't untied Humphrey. She had actually tied a few আরো knots. Humphrey was gawping. She began to give Chris a lecture that could easily have been a lot quieter. "Kate, i'm sorry, ok? I didn't mean to-"
"You almost killed my brother in law!"
"He grabbed onto me! He was the reason I hit the lake!"
Kate had heard enough. "Just go." she said.
Then Humphrey spoke. "Kate, you're being harsh."
"I'm not in the mood to be nice, de-"
Humphrey held her mouth closed. "Dear has a name."
"I know that, HUMPHREY."
Then she lead him back down to the river. Chris decided to follow them down there and go on a walk. "Stay in the terrortory." Kate warned.
"I will."
Chris decided to follow the boarder of the terrortory. He was halfway when he heard somthing behind him. He looked and saw nothing, so he carried on. Then the same thing happened again. Chris was frightened now. What was following him?
"I know you're there." he said. "You're doing a pretty bad job at hiding."
Immedeately, several timber নেকড়ে emerged from the forest. The largest one stood at the front. "My name is Bill. We are sorry for our tresspass. We are on a diplomatic mission."
"How... How can I help?"
"Take us to your leader."
Chris obeyed.
