The whole thing with her and Troy was really just the novel that Ethan was writing. At the end when she was reading his manuscript it was exactly the same thing that you saw during the story. So it turns out you were just watching his story come into the making during the movie. Troy wasn't ever real, he was just the character and you see her marrying both because she marries Troy in the book and she marries Ethan in real life.
