EPaws Three comments. Feel free to add yours: This is what I don’t understand about fandom. If you don’t like it, why are you a part of the fandom?? I just don’t get it people who join a fandom only to start complaining loudly about the source material. I mean, ok, you think the show talks down to you, fine. But you’re clearly invested in it cause you’re on a confessions blog for it. So which one is it? The show is crap or it’s not? **** I beg to differ with the above view. Liking a show that you see has great potential does not mean that you do not wish it to do better and serve the vast majority of its audience. The investment of time and yes, love is why those who bitch with justification care. THAT is why they BITCH. Nothing hurts a show more than apathy. ***** What EP said. Liking something doesn’t mean you have to blindly accept every thing that they try to shove down your throat. I watch and like this show because they have a) a great cast and b) a potentially great storyline. Unfortunately, J&J don’t know what to do with it and they use the excuse “it’s for children” in order to get away with lazy writing, and in the process they disrespect: 1.their cast 2.their audience (children or not) 3.hundreds of years legends This show could be great. And I want it to be great. But if I see flaws, I’m not gonna pretend they’re not there.

kbrand5333 I know a lot of children who are far less idiotic than a lot of adults. Just sayin'. And I completely agree with the statement. Treat us like we have brains, please. Do not get lazy just because the show is doing well and it's a fantasy show.

EPaws Particularly since the actual audience is 25-49 not the teens and early tweens. Stop playing stupid. You changed your start hour because Dr. Who gave it up. Use it appropriately. Enough said.

famfan Great Comments ladies, Always inspired by each and everyone of you! One of my favorite shows is Avatar: The last Air bender. It's a show for kids. Yet it is better written and has a bunch of truly awesome female characters. It does all this, while being about Aang (the last Airbender). So no I don't accept that this show has bad writing and uses the excuse that "it's for kid." This show is for families. Yes, I unplug and watch it with my girls, but you know what, I get upset with this show because these kids can act, and they deserve better then what the JJ's brew up for them. Every time I watch ABC make some crap seem deeper then anything that was written for them shine, I get mad. When they do get so truly awesome material (409 and 410), I get sad. They won't get any notice for their work, not on this show. Because they have spent to much time rehashing and writing crappy material. This show has so much wasted potential, I love it but it does. We the fans of this show have a right to say these thing because it is us who tune in and keep watching. Just because a parents love their children does not mean we dismiss the mistakes they make, so why should we who love Merlin dismiss theirs?
