Finding Ursa

Authors note: the sixth one here. Azula reflects on something that happened on a walk through the park with Ty lee. (she was 10 at the time)


Ty lee.

She's pretty.

She's bubbly.

She's happy.

Pretty brown hair. Pretty brown eyes.

Nice smile.

Mine's weird. It looks unfinished. Fake.

"Zula there's Maiko! He likes you."

Boys are yucky.

They're weak like Zuko.

"Hey you're the princess!"

"Yeah. She's Azula. Say hi Zula!"

Maiko seems weird.

"I like your hair pin! It's shiny!"

"Liar!"

What could I do?

He made me feel weird inside.

"He's a loser, Ty Lee!"

I didn't know how to act. I was scared.

Maiko cried. I liked that. She cried too.

He called me a brat.

I didn't like that anymore.

It made me cry.

Can't dance now. A lump in my throat.

Run home. So much rain. It's so wet.

She stares with stony eyes at the fake Lady in the hallway.

The empty and torn dress.
