I mean, c'mon. They broke them up in the first few minutes of the episode!! Aaagh, I still can't handle the fact that they ruined them like that. -.-˝

Agreed. They should' ve left it at the beggining of the episode, the part where Ted calls the mother. For me, that was the real ending. I know that the writer had a cartain ˝vision˝ back in 2006, but he should' ve changed it so it would fit the story. :/

I've analyzed this so many times but here we go once more .
If that was the ending they wanted to make since S2 why did they batray us and let us have hope ?!
Barney & Robin had a beautiful and epic build up ♥ ,they had to face some problems but they overcame them TOGETHER . They were two people afraid of commitment but they were perfect for each other ! Let's not forget that Barney was the only guy whose proposal was accepted by Robin . They made each other better and the made each other grow as personalities . Barney was the one who always accepted every aspect of Robin's personality and wanted to make her happy and he was the only guy Robin fell so much for ♥ . So yeah it's stupid to make them break up just to have the ending they wanted (especially the reason of the break up was so ridiculous becaus Barney was the one who helped Robin to find the job she always dreamt of in S4 ) ,it's stupid to neglect Barney&Robin's story ,development and build up just to fit the finale to what it used to be them back in S2 . If the writers wanted to respect their characters and their fans they should make a finale to fit the past seasons (and not just the first two seasons) ,they sould make a finale to fit S9 and S9 was all about Barney&Robin realizing how much they mean to each other and overcoming everything together .
So yes I'm mad & sad but you know what ,no one could deny these amazing looks they shared during Ted's wedding and what is more these two are endgame for me . As far as I'm concerned the last episode of the show was 9x22 aka their wedding or even if I accept the finale someday we don't know what's exactly happening in the end . So yeah for me these two will find their way back :) .

They basically made a lot of the past 3 season's irrelevant, I mean we had all of the effort in the proposal, all the times they went back to each other, all of their moments over the years. Especially their wedding weekend that took up a whole season. They spent so much time and effort on their relationship and it seems like a waste of time and effort for the writers to go through only to end the whole thing within the first few minutes of the show

This episode never existed to me. Period.

I don't think I'll ever get over this it's just too painful. The final was their wedding, nobody made Robin happier than Barney did and Barney was finally at a place where he wasn't broken and alone they truly loved each other they put everything they thought they wanted behind them to be together because they did and always would have feelings for each other. Nothing we saw in the finale was not what we saw through out the series, since season 3, no sorry season 1 they were this show epic love story and it all ended so terribly for both of them.

It was just awful and I feel so sorry for Neil and Cobie, having their characters disrespected so badly. They both shipped BR and to have them not end up together, they probably feel like it was a waste of time.

the whole season was about the pain ted went through bcoz he fell for the wrong girl (robin) and no matter what he did, it just didn't work out. they were just not compatible and actually robin was never the wife ted needed or wanted. and the mother was just what he needed. it was like she walked right out of her dreams. the season (until the ending part) was all about destiny and getting the man/woman of your dream. they taught us to have faith that one day we'll get the one we always dreamed about, no matter how impossible it seems to find all the things we want in a single person. ted wanted his perfect girl and she got her. by killing her off and giving us the ted and robin shit again, the show just became pointless. the most imp thing about the series, i.e. the mother, was proved worthless again and again. first is she was the one who inspired barney to work for the girl he loved (robin), which by the way made him write the last page of his playbook, which was so sweet. and again, she was the one who helped robin through her cold feet. hence, she was like an angel who helped barney and robin get together. now how dare they prove the mother wrong by splitting robin and barney up. barney and robin were perfect for each other. robin finally happy of commitment and the player king barney changing his ways. who doesn't think it's perfect? as life goes on everybody has to change, that's the reality. and robin changed for barney, never for ted. robin never ever really loved ted. and ted was just after what he couldn't get. what ted felt for the mother was love, what robin and barney felt for each other was love. robin was the needless, bold and independent woman that barney always needed and barney was the non-demanding, non-complaining, non-ruling man she needed. in so many ways they were similar, they knew how to deal with each other. ted's kids, what kind of people are they?their dad has just finished telling the story of their dead mother, and they are like "screw MOM, go after AUNT ROBIN( who btw was supposed to be with uncle barney)" but whatever, prove everybody that there is no such thing as loving and being loyal to one person your entire life, even after death tears you apart. and the whole point of barney and robin wedding hours was meaningless

I was angry on how the finale ended Barney and Robin like that they were supposed to be together went make a whole season with the wedding and then end their relationship like that what a waste of the last season of the show. For me the episode they for married was the series finale. What Was the point of even having them Plan the wedding and having the 9th season If they were just gonna break them up and why the build up with the proposal and the wedding if the weren't gonna keep them together and make them endgame.
