Since all I get to see are forts I love the battlements and moats. Booo--no castles in america. I'm so disappointed. :*(

Well... there are. They were built in 'the style of' at any rate, and singer Castle in NY is pretty damned cool... but authentic? No. America hasn't got a long enough history for them, really.

It's so lovely. Everything is so amazing though.

There are castles on the east coast in America. But I can't wait to go to Europe and see some real ones! They'll probably put the two I've visited to shame ;)

I was on a school trip and the original door to the dungeon was still in place and somebody thought it'd be funny to slam it shut. We were stuck in there for an hour before they managed to shimmy the door open without damaging it. It was made worse because there was no light down there and it was bloody cold but it was still fun as hell.

To see how it's built and how big it really is. Plus, the garden around a castle is usually just as pretty.

Boldt Castle in New York had a huge ballroom. It was beautiful! I wish I could dance in it!

also the ballromm or royal chambers

i really like the different archetecture(ok i know i spelled that wrong) but ballrooms just add to the whole idea of a fairytale castle.
