DC has been churning out better stories than Marvel for a number of years now. If you like mindless super-machismo, read Marvel. If you like character and good story, read DC.
Personally I find both their stories entertaining in very different ways. The only real reason I 'prefer' Marvel is because I find that DC tends to dilute their talent in mass books instead of pushing the most interesting ones.
im actually staring to not like marvel as much as i used to. Hollywood keep on killing classics. But i dont like 'golden aged' superheroes over marvel superheroes.
DC i think is better then marvel because they've ben throwing out random plotlines and things for cartoon chericters and I love it. I also read spider-man and X-man a lot.
DC is crippled by inconsistency if u don't think so just try & follow there golden boy superman. remember when he couldn't fly (just jump good)& when he couldn't lift a mountain.
i like both but marvel is better the heroes i like of DC are batman, superman, flash, wander woman, martanion manhunter & teen titans
but batman comic's are great too but i mostly read alot of marvel comics.i like to read x men (i have an x men comic with 160 pgs started it last year haven't finished LOL)
i do like dc but that's mainly coz of batman...he's my favorite character...whereas marvel is a lot of fun to read...have to agree with supak a bit here that dc does seem to be getting better than it used to be
I read it for Batman and Sandman. And i think that DC is more realistic. You always see heroes and vilains in Marvel obtaining superpowers through some accident involving radiation, but in DC comics, ma majority of the characters have no real powers, so its more relatable.
Im more of a DC fan, because DC doesn't put their characters to so much hell repeatedly. Like what they did Spidey, Cyclops, Hank Pymm...they just like putting them to so much hell that its just unbearable to read them.
Some DC comics are shit but seeing by my profile you can tell that I am a huge fan of DC. I love both very much but I'm really different when it comes to DC. I watch more of their animation than read the comics. It's just that some of the comics (even the classics) spoil some of the characters I grew fond of. But with Marvel I enjoy some of their movies (No not including spiderman) and have no problem with the comics. Yeah the animation there is pretty good too but with comics it would have to be Marvel for me.
I stopped reading both years ago. DC's New 52 was a sign of desperation, Marvel is not known for its original storylines anymore, not since the mid 90's, just idiotic events that end up getting cancelled. The problem is the so-called writers they keep hiring, they pretty much say, "Fuck it! I don't care about canon, I'm going to write as if this is my own fan fiction."

And Batman of course
The Problem with Marvel

It's not the best written piece on the subject, but it makes some very good points.
