I don't know why Australians think Australia's so great and always right. They have the stupidest laws. They ban guns so you can't protect yourself from murderers, they ban not voting and force people to randomly vote for whoever's name looks cooler. They bann women with small boobs, just incase they intice pedophiles.
Australian govornment is either eally controling or really paranoid.

^ I don't think "Australia's not so great" is an adequate response. Sure, the country's made some odd decisions, and we can talk all day about many of the ones you listed. The issue I have with your response is that it includes extremely little on the topic of gun control. The only line you stated regarding that is "they ban guns so you can't protect yourself from murderers," which is a pretty misleading argument. Some studies have attempted to adequately determine just how many lives are saved by people using guns in self defense, but the results range from intentionally misleading to difficult to parse. The most famous number is 2.5 million in the U.S., but that number is so fallacious it hardly bears repeating. Disputes over that number, in particular, have been many: link.

But more importantly, your argument seems to be fine with playing Russian Roulette with the lives of those you think these will protect. In some cases, guns will stop a crime. In others, guns will kill a maybe criminal. In others still, they will be a part of a terrible accident (and on those, we have very clear statistics). It's quite a gamble. You're essentially stating that we should always be focused on defending our lives with something that is overtly meant to kill. It'd be one thing if you were advocating body armor for everyone (which would be far more effective), but you're saying we need more guns to stop guns from killing people. Seems messed up to me.

Look, I'm not even advocating a full ban. I think that's excessive, and I don't think it'll fully solve the problem either, since it will likely create a black market for guns that will just make criminals more dangerous. Personally, I'd advocate for stricter requirements to get a firearm. But the idea that the major reason we should have guns is for protection is absurd.

I wasn't trying to give an "adequate response" and I wasn't making an argument.
"your argument seems to be fine with playing Russian Roulette with the lives of those you think these will protect"
