Quite honestly I think Disney would be better off without

Even though I think Pocahontas is an amazing movie, I must admit that the historical inaccuracies do tend to peeve people off much more. It completely glossed over everything bad that happened. I think people getting mad over PatF should shut up. They got what they wanted: A black princess.

All of the other DP movies were groundbreaking landmarks(Snow White, Cinderella, TLM, BATB) and the ones that weren't landmarks still did really well at the box office(Aladdin, Mulan, Tangled).
Sleeping Beauty was technically neither but at least it didn't stir up any controversy.
But these two were really more trouble than their worth, they both caused alot of controversy, still to this day and they weren't even that good in the first place.

I hear more complaints about this one being racist or stupid things like that.

Both, i hate it when people where asking the voice actors what did they think about a DP been black and if the girl will relate to her just for been black.

Racism still here and people show it ones in a while.

I don't really hear anything about Pocahontas? But I heard a lot of people saying things about PatF being racist and even more comments about how they didnt' want to see it because of the voodoo stuff.

Things I hear:
-Pocahontas is inaccurate.
-It is racist. (how is a movie with the song "colors of the wind" in it racist? how the hell?"

I find Princess and the Frog trickier, because even though it gave the society what they wanted, a black princess, it takes place in uh... 40s? 50s? so in an era which was not famous for its tolerance for afroamericans. In the beginning of the movie we actually see Tiana living in a sort of ghetto. But if you just look at the whole thing more closely, they had to start the plot somewhere. I mean Cinderella was cleaning and wearing ragged cloths in the beginning of Cinderella too, and Snow White was also treated as scum, compared to which Tiana's position is just fabulous. And it's all about making her dream come true, which could not work if she was living the American dream in the first place. Besides, the Le Beuff family's, especially Charlotte's relationship to Tiana and her family show how much this movie is not racist. As for Pocahontas, it's totally not racist. I mean they win in the end. Besides it's a bloody fairy tale, WHY would it need to be accurate historically? Please...

I haven't looked up the exact numbers, but hasn't Pocahontas made way more money for Disney than Tiana has? Sorry to be the cynical one, but money is what matter most to companies I feel

The only problem bothers most people about Pocahontas is just how it was historically inaccurate. But PATF has a lot of issues, mostly about this is being racist.

Both movies *achem* re-write actual history in order to make the fairy-tale formula. Rewriting history doesn't really work for a fairy-tale movie. So both are not going to be called "top hits." Enough said.
